Key fob battery - Uk car

Folks, not been on here for a while, as had some problems with accessing site for some reason and also previous posts seemed to just disappear...now fixed - well my access anyway.

Gonna update on history & recent issues soon, but most pressing issue is getting resolution of some key fob issues.

May just be dying batteries - if so, can anyone confirm correct type for Uk fob - seeing both 1620's & 2025 stated in various places. Manual says 1620's, but would like to purchase replacements before I split fobs - understand it's an easy job to replace rather than paying dealer?

Just replaced the batteries in both of my fobs with 1620's. Very easy to replace yourself, just need a small flat-head screwdriver.

I found that the 1620 batteries are harder to find than 2016, which seem to be everywhere and affordable. After spending $4/pop too often, I went to Amazon and ordered a multipack for about the same price as for a single battery.

Once you've done it the first time, you can pop the FOB apart in 3 sec at the battery counter in the store. Just open the key, press the tab in under where the key was, separate the key from the remote, pry the remote apart by twisting the flathead screwdriver inside the center depression. Just be aware that the buttons can fall out, so hold the remote upside down while you pry so the buttons are on the bottom.
