Ok, so I replaced my stolen kenwood 919 in my msp with a new x979 and I'm having some minor trouble with my install and I need some assistance.

I have two issues:
- the most obvious is that my sub isn't working. NOW I realize that the h/u has one RCA jack for the sub and the other is for a center channel - I used these two for the sub plugs, would that be the problem?

- Also, I had no idea what to do with the blue wire/plug that was bunbled with the RCA jacks for the subwoofer - there is no jack on the new h/u to match that plug so....what is it for?

I back-checked the manual for the 919 and I don't see anything in there that matches this plug either so I'm baffled.

u need to get a why splitter for the sub out on the deck 1male to 2 female.

and the blue wire needs to be tapped into the blue/white coming off the back of the head unit

The blue/white wire on my h/u is labeled the power control wire & I have that spliced to the all blue "turn on" wire from the wiring harness? Was that not correct, it seemed to make sense, and it seems to work ok.

the blue wire that I left dangling IS blue/white but it has a small metal plug on the end in a short clear rubber sheath - so should I have cut into that and spliced it with the power control wire?

Y-splitter confirmed, I'll try that tonight. IF I can get back in there, the wires are catching on the cage I think, I couldn't get the blasted thing to slide out all the way last night.
