Kenwood separates and bio-amping

I have pioneer premier 9400 headunit w/XM that i am installing in my 2002.5 P5. My questions:

1 I don't have room for a sub (it takes up to much space that i need). my idea is to install kenwood 6.5 components in front door and A pillar. THEN install another set of 6.5 components in the rear with the tweets set back in the hatch area to increase spatial imaging. I would use 2 amps. two front channels of one to feed the front conponents through a xover, with the two rear channels feeding just the TWEETERS in the hatch. I would then use a two channel amp and take the sub woofer output ofthe headunit to the two rear 6.5's in the door. I would xover these spkrs rather high (250hz?).

2 the XM antennae will completely replace the existing roof mount antennae. for FM reception, I will use a "rubbder ducky" unit mounted between the headliner and the roof (inside)

thoughts??

This makes no sense:confused:

Are you going to actively run the rear speakers?

What amps are you using, how many channels are they?

i will actively run the rear speakers through a dedicated two channel 60X2 Rf Punch amp input will be from subwoofer output on hu

front component and rear tweets will run from a 4X75 Alpine amp.
rear tweet will essentially act a the rear spkrs. their inout will be from rear pre-outs on hu. obviously, they will be crossed at 3500.
the front components will be driven be the other two channles of the alpine using the front pre-outs from the hu

A friend of mine runs a detail shop for luxury cars (Lexus, Benz, Rovers, Bimmer). He came up with a creative suggestion if you want to put a sub in. There is room in the spare well for your jack. That space where the jack sits could be chopped out to put a recessed 10, maybe a 12 in there.
Just a thought.

I doubt you will be very happy with that set up at all. Even with the 6.5's running off of the sub-output on the HU xing over the freq's at 250hz is going to basicly eliminate the sub controls that the 9400 has with the execption of phase inversion. Number two the 6.5's really aren't designed to be sub's they're more inline with midbass drivers and won't push the necassary air to produce clean deep bass like a sub. if you decide to go with the setup you're talking about and and using the rear 6.5's as bass drivers I think you'd be happier using a standard four channel amp to run all the componets then use the FIE feature on the 9400 to direct the bass "sounds" from the rear speakers. Another option is using something similar to a solo-baric 8" sub that doesn't take up any room at all, I think the requirements are .5-.6 cubic feet, and would give you a nice low end punch without being overly bassy.

great ideas!! that's why we're here. Aftrer some thought, I agree that this setup proably limits my flexibility. I have decided to keep the basic concept of two sets of 6.5 components, but drive them through a single 4 channel amp, with the sub output unused for now. I then have the option of looking for a unique solution to the sub issue (i like the idea of the solobaric in the tire jack compartment).
thanks for the help
