I therefore have one 1 more MSP Kartboy shifter left

i need to know if i can use the stock shift knob before i buy because i allready have a kartboy shifter and knob i just like my stock knob better. but i have the version of the shifter where the stock knob wont thread on

oh i believe the only difference between the protege and the msp version of the kartboy short shifter is where the shift boot placement is because of the length of the stock shift knob.

there are 2 different versions of the kartboy shifter the threads are different one version you can use the stock knob the other version the threads are different and you cant

I have the Kartboy shifter and the stock MSP knob is a direct fit.

well i have one too and my stock knob does not fit thats why i have the kartboy knob

If the MSP knob doesn't fit, the one you have is probably threaded to fit the MP3. The MP3 was the only 3rd gen. Protege (MSP, P5, DX/LX/ES, MP3) that had a different thread.

It's also possible that Kartboy made some at some point with a different thread, but the Kartboy I had fit the stock P5/MSP/DX/LX/ES threads.

whats the difference btwn the kartboy and the msp shifters? I always thought the kartboy unit was the a copy of the msp shifter?
