Kartboy Bushing Install

Ok.... My hands are hurting and my confidence has shot lower than the stock market. :'(

I can't get the FREAKIN' bolt off the tranny fixture where the bushings are to be installed. It's seriously on there like 325,3432,7676,2323 times stronger then any airgun could possibly torque.

The nut is practiacally stripped and still no hope of it moving. Has anyone else had this problem when installing the bushings?

I'm soaking the thing with penetrating oil overnight and going to try again tomorrow.

just used a ratchetted wrench and was able to torque it off with two hands, had to jack the car up to get enough room so I could get enough leverage.

All I can say is...are you sure it's the right bolt....are ya turning the right way? Sometimes I screw up on the simplist things.

Sup' Scott, Man just had the baby 3 weeks ago and I wish my problems were as simple as a turbo's PSI or a shifter... Muahahahah... Naw but have been hella busy with my new son..

actually i had the same problem......had to use monkey wrench to take it of since i stripped it...

Used my 3/4 wratchet with pipe extension and it came off just fine.

One more try this weekend with my technician friend, and still to no avail... The nutt is stripped and there's no way of getting it off.

He says the only way to get it off now is to use exctrating sockets. We've tried vice grips and anything else possible.

anyone else have any ideas?

Cut the b**** off and replace the bolt

How did that snap ring come out for you? I just started tryin to take mine out yesterday and jesus that thing wouldnt budge...The snap-ring pliers I have must not be strong enough to handle it..because the ends were just bendin...I really wanna get my shifter and bushings in too!

I replaced mine after semi-stripping the nut. I used drive on ramps instead of jacks. I just grabbed a wrench first and it turned out to be made out of bad steel and it stripped the bolt. I switched the wrech with a Mac wrench and then things went a little smoother. It was on tight, but I didn't need a torque bar or anything. Moral of the story: Don't use crappy tools!
