My mates bought me a K&N pod filter for my birthday and i just have afew questions about installing it.

on top of the standard air box is another (smaller) box with 2 cables running into it. I've been told it might be a computer controlled choke?, but Im not really sure.

If anyone could enlighten me, it would be greatly appreciated. :)

Ill try to post some pics if i can get hold of a digital camera.

It's all the same box, the cables are for the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) and they are on the top because that's where the air goes, it comes from the bottom half goes through the filter and out the top half all the way to the engine...hope that helped.

So all you have to do is unbuckle the metal straps, pop the top up, pull out the old crummy paper filter and drop in the new K&N one.

Before I finished my real intake, I put one of those in and also took off that stupid platic contraption in the very front of the hood before the box...what a joke that thing is. Those two combined actually made the my engine sound a little better and louder, I dunno which did it more. If you want to do that it is pretty straightforward, just unscrew the attached screws where you see them, pull it out and throw it away :). But the big advantage of a K&N is you will never have to replace the filter for the life of the car, just re-oil it and clean it like every time you change your oil. Don't forget to do that though.
