MazdaSPEED Protege
I have searched a bunch of websites for a K&N filter for my MSP but when I put in the model it only has regular protege and tries to sell me the square one, does anyone know the part # for a K&N filter that will work for the stock MSP cold air intake??? Thanks

Yep, if you have a CAI, it wasn't put there by the factory.

Oh, well I figured it was put in there by the factory because the air filter holder had mazdaspeed on it. I did see a similar one on ebay so I figured someone was sell their factory CAI, great now its probably a piece of sh!t no name.

If you want an air filter I have an AEM dryflow FILTER (not CAI) that can be put on your stock plastic intake pipes.

Just go to K&Ns web site & figure out which round tapered one you want, for example you said CAI, is your piping 2 3/4 or 3 inch? find one on the chart that fits your needs then see who has that part number. Search ebay for the part number you want. BTW the name brand piping does nothing special that the no name piping won't do except the no name stuff will save you money to get the good filter. The filter & the silicone connections vs. cheap rubber ones are what matters. There is no more HP to be had because you spent 200.00 on it instead of 50.00 regardless of filter or connections. You are just paying the extra 100.00 for a CARB legal sticker to pass inspections in some states. Just buy the damn sticker from someone for 5.00 if you need one or buy the high dollar ones used - air flow doesn't wear out intake piping.
