Just snapped a BOV bolt

I've heard of a few people snapping off the top bolt that holds the BOV in place and I just followed suit and did it myself, damn thing snapped right in half. With only 1 bolt holding it in it seems to sit pretty flush - anyone ever just had 1 bolt in? I may have no choice if I can extract it. . . we'll see.

that happened to me once, the first time i changed to the hks bov, had to get an extra screw from mazda and i don't remeber being hard to get out, it all depends where it snapped off.

The threaded end snapped off in the hole. How did you remove it? If any of it was sticking out the top I would just cut a slit in it and use a screwdriver, but thats not the case.

Sometimes, if you are lucky and have led a clean life, you can use a left-handed drill bit and in the process of drilling it the bolt remains will come out. Now, I am not sure where you can find a left-handed drill bit, probably some place like Grainger would have them. And yes, they do exist because we have a set on the ship I am on right now.

Take it to a machine shop. They might charge you 20-30 bux. If you try and get it out with an extractor and it breaks it will be 50 for the machine shop plus the 10 for the tool and the headache. I learned this lesson the hard way, apparently Mazda used some cheap s*** bolts for the BOV.

I bought my left-handed bits at Harbor Freight.
