Heard this was supposed to be the best scarey movie ever? Well it had it's moments but I'm still confused where the tape came from in the first place. I think if I was wasn't worried about trying to tie everything together it might have been better. Anyone here think it was the scariest movie ever?

hey would someone like this tape I just recorded.... I made a copy myself... you want it... please.... take it....

Yeah i thought it was a really good story....very original. But I can usually figure things out before they happen in movies but I still can't figure out where the tape came from? And it had a good twist at the end that I did'nt see coming.

I didnt think it was that scary myself... but maybe because I have seen theoriginal one that was very very very similar.. RINGU.

yeah Rungu was the Japanesee version. it was a japanesee movie that was remade for the US.

One question. Does it really matter where the tape came from?

No it really doesn't but...I'm just one of those people that has to have all the facts put together. I'm very critical when it comes to movies so I'm not that guy who sees every movie and says "AHHH man that movie was great" when it was some suck ass movie. Anyways I was just curious if anyone knew because I may have missed it.

Haha...I'm going to hook my vcr up to the dvd and make a tape of just "The Tape" and just leave it at random friends houses(laugh)

wasn't that bad. AT least it wasn't another freddie/jason/scary movie type story. Original to say the least......well....until you see Fear dot com. Bit of advice, don't

I didn't find it that scarey, but I tell ya, my woman is FREAKED out! Every sound in the house she's like....what was that :)

If you saw the movie then you know what was under that cabin. Well someone was recording something and she projected all those images into the tape because she has telepathic power. In the Japanese version it was some kid recording a baseball game but it was too far in the woods to pick up signal so her thoughts show up instead. The American version is way better than the Japanese.

Ok saw the movie and absolutely loved it. It's my #1 horror movie because it has a deep plot. It's not meant to be explained in 1 movie- as you all know it's a remake of a Japanese.......TRILOGY! Hopefully Dreamworks does the rest of them...I think they might because the lead character Naomi Watts, was on the Howard Stern show and she kinda hinted toward them making more.

Ok the things I got from it:

1.Obviously the tape was made by the little girl. Remember how she made those x-ray style pics in the asylum. When a psychologist was asking her how she made them she said, "I dont, I just think them and they become".
Now think of the location of the VCR over the well. It was directly over top of it if you remember.

2.When I saw the movie in the theater there was a guy in front of me who I chatted with for a few minutes after the movie. He was a big fan of the original Japanese trilogy and he cued me in to a few things- enough to keep my interest going and not ruin it.
A. The reason the girl was spared had nothing to do with her making a copy and showing it to someone!
B. The little girl might not be the evil one in the movie. Although I can't think of who else it would be other than the girl from the beginning's friend that went insane. I only say that because she's the same height as the chick that comes out of the TV...and if the little girl isn't the one thats evil.......hmmm
C. Lastly...the body she found in the well wasn't the little girl. Apparently forensic study showed that the body was no more than a few days/weeks old!

Lots of unanswered questions. Thats what makes the movies so damn good. Plus it's grade A in the creepy factor!

Sorry, but I would take Signs over the Ring anyday. It wasn't even scarry. Yea, it was an origional story (is an original story on that is original but copied from someone elses idea?) The timeing wasn't right for me. All of the scarry parts were too ease to see coming. The movie just didn't hold you till the right moment. The original movie that they were walking wasn't even distrubing.

Just my 2 cents

Now talk about a good movie, how about final destination 2. Not really scary but definetly keeps you on the edge. Great Movie!

The movie isn't as scary when you watch it out of theatres though. I rented it for my family the other day but I couldn't watch it. I'm seriously screwed for life regarding that movie. :P

Anyways, there's NO jumpy parts without the cinema type effects (except for all of you with extraordinary systems at home). There were just enough jumpy parts in the movie to keep you at your seat of your pants. And not too many so you knew when they were going to be..

IMHO, very good movie! Very scary...

I loved the Ring. It was a very good scary movie. Partly to the fact that she was on that timeline type deal. The ending did get me too. Especially since we rented it and watched it at home and as soon as the movie was over the phone rang. Talk about scaring the s*** out of ya. The scene that got me every time during the "tape" was the freaking nail going through the finger and finger nail. Awweee man I cringed every time. And if this is the start of a trilogy I'll bee so happy.

As for your comments Lazerblue: I don't see how they said the body they found was only 2 weeks old whenever it turned into a skeleton, like it's been there for years and years. I was thinking the boy had something to do with it since he could see her death happening like the 5 days before it heppened. And he was drawing all those pictures of stuff. And if it's true that it had nothing to do with her making a copy of the tape then her kid is in danger during the next show. All in all I thought it was a great movie and I wish I would have seen it in the theaters so it could have had 10 times the scary effect.

As for signs, I didn't think too much of it. It was alright to watch once but that'll be it for me. I think I'll buy The Ring. And I haven't seen Fear dot com yet. I'll have to rent it.

About the dumbest, gayest, stupidest scary movie I've ever waisted money on watching has been Jeepers Creepers. Man the previews made it look soo good, but it just sucked. That's about all you can say about it. I hated it.

I am anxiously awaiting to go see Dream Catcher. It looks pretty good and they'll be having the little Matrix video thing in there. Can't wait.

Well This is funny cause I just rented it and watched it last night. I get all the way through it with suspense building and the lights off and everything and then my stupid roommate comes barging in talking and s*** and I had to rewind it to hear what was going on. He then comes back out of the kitchen and starts talking again right when I pushed play. DAMIT so I rewind again and when the very next scene is the end I was soooo pissed . I mean 2 hours of suspense building up and he has to come in and freaking ruin it. Pretty good movie though. A little confusing in some parts. Hey you think I could play that tape for my roommate. I won't watch but I will force him to. Seriously anybody else hate there roommate???? Wish I could return him with the movie.

I think your rommate needs a crash coarse in manners, by all means hit him about the head and face. Anyways about the tape...it makes some since that the little girl projected them onto the tape while being videoed. Because see could make those x-ray pictures and was the dad the last one to check it out trying to keep anyone from seeing it? And if the little girl really isn't the evil one I see the boy coming into the picture...no pun intended. Because he seemed to have the heads up about the little girl telling him things but he started expierencing the same things the other victoms did there at the end....bloody nose. Well I guess I'll just have to wait and see. But overall it was one of the top 10 movies I've ever seen.

Funny, I love Jeepers Creepers cause the villan won at the end. You don't find that with many movies. I was rather dissapointed with the Ring. But nothing will ever beat the Exorcist. That movie still f__ks me up til this day(nervous) (nervous)

saw the movie in the theaters, and thought it was a waste of money, basically it sucked ass, wasen't even scary. the original japenese version sounds interesting though.
