Just placed my order with essential speed

I know Kevin and Essential Speed don't have much of a following or aren't well known yet, but I decided to place my order with him because his product just appealed to me. It was tough deciding between Ion, Spool and Essential but everything Essential had to offer just caught my attention. Kevin was very professional and full of information during the ordering process. He definitely set my mind at ease and am looking forward to receiving the items.

Anyway, I will be receiving his polished hard pipes with all couplings and clamps, GReddy BOV, CAI and his FMIC in about 2 weeks.

Hopefully shortly after I receive them, I will start to install the pieces and take a lot of pictures along the way.

Stay tuned

Mark

cool man, i do like the work on the pipes.
kevins good to go, i spoke to him about the msp and i pretty much got the same feeling you did.
let us know how it turns out.

Based on the pics that were posted here and on his site, everything seems to be of great quality.

After I placed the order, he just started talking about some of the cars he has and that he is working on. Honestly, I'm a car nut and have a decent knowledge of cars but he just lost me during some of the information he was relaying.

He really seems to know his way around turbo components.

So, how about giving some details about the product, or links, phone numbers, pricing, etc... Not all of us are up to date with this vendor.... especially me...:D

You can find information and pricing on his site. The prices are in Canadian. Basically to get a ballpark figure divide the Canadian price by 1.35 and you have a rough estimate as to the cost of the items.

Hope that helps.

It seems to me that they are a little over priced even though it's in Canadian $'s it still seems really pricey. They are charging 1380 bucks for the hardpipe kit, a CAI and BOV that just seems way too much to me. I'm thinking if those were all bought seperate then it would cost a lot less than than 1380. Not really sure though cause I've never priced these parts out myself, but from what others have posted here, essential speeds prices just seem a little steep.

The price is a little more expensive for the hardpipe kit but I think it will be worth it.

Don't forget though that the $1380 Canadian includes shipping - works out to be a little over $1000 Us shipped.

The FMIC is about on par with other offerings. It comes with the additional piping, the IC, a manual boost knob, and their fuel cut defender module. This is all for about $1075 US shipped. Their core is also smaller than other offerings but it seems very efficient and will still allow air flow to the radiator cutting the need to upgrade the radiator.

Their offerings seem to suite my wants and needs since I'm not a weekend racer or building a drag car. I just want the car to run more efficiently and be able to get me on the highway a little quicker when merging (hopefully also last longer if I get rid of some of the extra heat in the engine. I will not be touching the boost at all.

Hey mark94 Good call on the essential speed stuff, luck for me I live like 15 minutes from him and yes he does know his s***, He is currently working on mine and he just finished up a 2003.5 titanium msp with stages 1-4 and he just dynoed 260whp. Yep my money is going to him for sure.

I like the idea of having an FCD included with the kit, even though the FCD isn't really expensive, it just makes things convenient knowing that it all comes together from the same place.

Definintley Essentialspeed is a great place. Kevin really knows what he is talking about and has been doing this for years. Althogh they are new to the protege market, most likely longer than most companies though, they are very good at what they do and hav helped me along very nicely. I am happy with the extra 100+hp that they have given to my P5 hopefully more soon.

Each Canadian dollar is worth ~ 74 cents US, take the Canadian dollars amount and multiply by .74. that will give you US

Brennan, he definitely lost me during the conversation with all the information he was spewing. He sure does seem to know what he is doing.

markmurray, Kevin actually gave me your email address to talk with you since I was not too sure if I was going to go with Essential. Since he was not an authorized vendor I just didn't want to get ripped off for this amount of money and asked him if I could get in touch with anyone who purchased his produces just to set my mind at ease. He was telling me about your P5 and it sounded great so I didn't even bother contacting you. I had no idea you were even on the board. Nice to see that you are happy with the product.

Oliver, sorry about the wrong info, another Canadian vendor (supplier of CF hoods) gave me that figure so I just applied it to this.

I plan on getting some of the stuff for my engine from them, as they are really close to me aswell. It looks they'll stay on the market, as their stuff is really good quality.

Hmmm, might have to ask if they plan on a SRI as opposed to the CAI.... I'd be more interested in that... the slightly smaller IC might suit my purposes better anyway especially if it makes the install go a lot smoother...

Essential Speed is one seriously badass company, that dyno'd MSP is freakin amazing. i just got a sponsorship from the owner too for my board, and get raffle off one of the hardpipe kits.. all i can say is wo0t. these are awesome folks, i've been talking to them for a while.
