Just one worn tire?

My P5 has 12.5K miles on it. I just noticed that the front left tire is worn close to the wear indicators but the other three tires are fine. The wear pattern is even across the tire and there are no rough spots or feathering. Has anybody else seen anything like this?

I talked to a mechanic friend of mine and he said it was unlikely to be an alignment problem. It looks like I need to find a Dunlop dealer in the area. Hopefully they'll agree to replace a 12.5K tire that's about to wear out. That's rediculous.

I don't think I spin the wheels much. I do not go smoking them and burning out. Even if this was the case, it'd mean that the P5 REALLY needs an LSD to be consistently that uneven.

I would go to the dealer, no matter what the problem is they will look at it and they will probably tell you where to get the tire replaced if they don't do it.

From your description, I'm guessing it's just the result of too much wheelspin.

At 12.5K, I would have already done a tire rotation or two, and that would have evened out the wear and you could wait and buy all 4 at once.

I doubt the Dunlop dealer is going to give you anything off on the new tire - Likely he'll just tell you that either it WAS an alignment problem, or wheelspin, and neither are the fault of the tire.
