After a few cut fingers, my car stinking like White Lithium Grease, these babies are in!!!

For those of you who don't have either of these, they're a must do!! I've only done a quick trip up and down the street with some 'spirited' driving and shifts are already improved dramatically. The gear lever just slides right in with no resistance, no clunking, it just goes right in (hard to explain really). The lowered height of the shifter is also really nice and the reduced throw is a dream...I don't feel like i'm rowing a boat when changing gears!

TWM...you guys have some awesome products and your instructions were GREAT! (2thumbs) .....Now I just have to wait for my Knob to clear customs! :D

It's 12:17am and i just finished...so i'll take pics in the am ;)

I can't remember who it was who had the problem with their shift boot and the tearing threads, but I did cover the back stitching of my boot with duct tape to help protect it. Thanks for the info! (bowdown)

Nice to hear another positive on the TWM STS. I agree with you regarding TWM's products and instructions. Their attention to detail really left a good impression when I did the bushings. I think I'm getting the STS sooner than later.

I had a problem using some paperclips and putting them in to stop some clips from closing around the shifter ball. My dumb ass ended up using razor blades as they were a lot thinner and i could slip them behind no problem. This worked great but you have to be really careful when moving your hands while the blades are inserted....one false move and ffffffppppttt, there goes a finger! ;) I only cut myself once or twice and it was only a really small one.

I'm wondering if the difference between my setup and yours is just a shorter throw for me.

Hey, matt, matt here,

Gald to hear you got it in.

Heres a trick I did with my shift boot.

Take it off, then flip it inside out. If you have a dremel (sp?) grind or cut that plastic thing down to about 1/4in.

Going into reverse is easier, and the feel is a lot better.

Good luck, and have fun!

I used paper instead of the clips.

PICS PICS PICS!!

I am going to start this install in about 3 hours or so and i want to see the final product before i start!....you know, inspiration and stuff

I just installed mine the other day, where does the shift boot tear at?? The front side of the boot close to the dash or the back side close to the rear of the car, thanks
