Just installed my TRZ Dogbone Poly!!

17 minutes including the 5 minutes I spent rounding up a misplaced torque wrench and the two short pauses for sips of an 'adult beverage' (drinks).....

I almost don't feel any vibrations at idle except for the start-up, but does everyone's car resonates loudly in the first and second gears below 3000rpm?

It does seem more pronounced in the first two gears but I most feel it when declerating........I'm guessing the poly mount will soften over time and increasing summer temperatures....just for grins I'm going to do the 'epoxy fix' on the OEM mount and compare the two after the TRZ gets broken in.....could always swap 'em out for long trips where the vibes might prove to be fatiguing.

I only feel mine during start-up, A/C ON, and deceleration between 3K to 2.3K... Otherwise, I don't notice it...

It took mine a little over 1K to break-in... Living in Florida didn't help since most roads are highways...

wasssup boyz...
just did my install and here are my comments

it vibrates much more than the SU mount,(my boy vic has it) on start up and idle. when accelerating or shifting at about 1800 - 3500rpm, you get the most and harshest vibrations...same thing when you are in high rpm (5000-6000) and let off the throttle, it vibrates like a mo'fo! besides that, you dont feel it as much.under hard acceleration, the vibrations make it feel like an older car
in terms of performance, OMG!!! throttle blips are instataneous, and under hard acceleration, it does feel stronger and more solid. clutch engagment feels real good and sounds nice during idle and idle accerations...no lift shifts from 2 - 3 and 3 - 4 are an excellent improvement, feels like it never stops accelerating!!!!!!!

however, like you AutoXRacer, i also have mix feelings about this mod...

i really hope the vibrations reside a bit. i already see myself ordering the SU mount just to test the diffrence.

Give it 500~1000 miles.
exactly! i had the same feelings after i put mine in. it made me grin but i was thinking this is going to get old after a while. 1000 miles later, i dont even notice it now and wouldnt dream of removing it!

I just installed...just i am jumping on the band wagon too... the TRZ Derlin mount last night with Hawk HPS all the way around and let me tell you! Bedding in brakes have never been that fun!!

One of my biggest complaints going from my 02 Protege ES to this was the lack of imput. I really missed the car "talking" to me. I really feel that the car is getting there. Now it lets me know that i am driving. If i wanted comfort...i would have bought an Impala or something. This is a Speed for a reason and i am starting to help the car realize the potential.

I am going harsh-as-hell on everything and by the time i am done with the mods i can buy something to drive when my ass is tired of the messages...

Just did a concurrent install of TRZ poly mount and TWM shifter bushings......all I have to say is WOO Effing HOO !

Yeah, i've got that stuff in my garage callin my name right now! I am hyped... i am finally getting in all the parts that i have been buying for the last 4 months or so... thanks to the PG mani group buy for starting this downward spiral!

So, this afternoon i can share the WOO HOOS twowings!!

I am pretty set on buying the poly TRZ rear engine mount, since I've heard good things from reading through a few threads, but I was curious if anyone had any opinions about the Street Unit Performance Billet Aluminum Rear Engine Mount? Anyone have one or heard anything about it? Just want to get info on everything available.

Thanks

I have the SU Mount.
It's an extremely beefy part. I got the 62a bushing.
I can't detect any more vibration than before.
Shifting is much smoother and wheel hop is all but gone unless I drive like a goon on a wet surface.
Launching is dramatically improved - because of reduced wheel hop, the traction control isn't flashing at me and cutting off the power.
I can get the tires to chirp going into third gear now. Gonna need tires sooner than I thought LOL!

I am also going to order my MM.. Im thinking of going with the SU MM instead of this controversial TRZ Poly mount. I am thinking about getting the 90a though. Whats your opinion's between the 62a and the 90a?

what is controversial about it ? the vibration ? like the previous poster says he felt no more vibration than before. do you know wht that means ..? it is not very firm or offer much more support. you will feel vibration with a good firm mount that acually does its job. if you cant feel it working it isnt !
their 90 duro may be a better option, but i havent tested one of those.

So, any first impressions to share ?

I can't even feel the vibrations anymore! Sometimes I have to rev at idle to remind me that the mount is still on there because it feels so smooth that I think the mount must've fallen off!
