Just installed Custom FMIC, Weird Sound

Ok, So everything seems ok, install went well,
But when I floor it, it makes a really high pitched sound from the engine bay at around 4000 rpm or WOT,

What do you think it is, My TB to IC pipe is hitting the Brake Resovoir(Fixing it tomorrow) but it can't be from that

It's really bothering me I don't want to really see what this intercooler can do until I find out what that sound is, anybody want to help?

That's what the situation sounds like to me too. I get a very high pitch sound at high rpm's too. Loud enough to make your ears pop if the windows are down.

you can look at the setup, but it is really audible now like crazy audible. I'll post pictures as soon as I get a camera

This could be a bad analogy but when I got my intake my turbo went from being somewhat quiet to getting a lot louder. Im guessing the same thing is happening with yours especially if you hear a whistling sound.

Ok, Jamie(tekkie) heard the sound on sunday and he said it was really weird, now YP5Toronto also heard it and took it for a drive, Now it doesn't sound like anything mechanical, it does it at WOT or when boost starts,

It sounds like if you were to take a piece of grass and blow into it, that is the sound it would make. really loud though

Also I have it at stock boost but it doesn't seem to be running as smoothly as it did before. I pumped the brake at idle and the rpms don't drop so this is weird as hell. The car seems slower than it did even when I bought the car new, could it be because of the new Piping and the intercooler which is 26X7X3.5

It can't be the turbo because it goes still really hard and stays at around 6 psi

I wonder if there is something inside the pipe or intercooler that is in the flow path. Is it a premade core/end-tanks, or something that was put together by your shop? If there is a tab or something left inside, it could make that sound.

Also, you could still have a bost leak somewhere in the intake piping or intercooler. It could be small enough that it doesn't affect boost levels significantly. Check for tears in the silicone connectors.

Ok it is definetly coming from the Drivers side but can't pinpoint where it could be for sure on that side, Ugh this is annoying.

This probably won't help, but when i'm at WOT and i shift my type s bov makes a crazy loud screech..but it only last for maybe 1/2 a second.

yeah this problem is very weird, the best way that I can desciribe it is that when the boost comes on at first it sounds like a supercharger, but you can still faintly hear the turbo underneath that sound also

Hey Jamie I'm almost positive it has to do with those 180' pipes, I will be fixing those this saturday I'll keep you updated, IF not it might be something to do with the Intake but it is definetly not the Turbo or anything Mechanical cause everything runs fine even when I floor it, it's just that sound that is annoying the hell out of me.

Still don't know what it could be, redid the piping a bit still sound. Pissing me off

i think i have it too.. does it sound like vvrrrr when u boost? i got mine after i converted the CAI to a SRI and my friend had it when he installed his harpipes(spool hardpipes and he had the injen CAI already )... im 90% sure its from the intake.. u can hear mine at about 1-4 psi and its making the car hestitate more.. im waiting on the Perrin SRI hope thatll fix it, im sure theres nothing wrong with my injen i think i moved the silicones when i was converting it to SRI.

It Could be the Intake except that I had my intake on before and it didn't do it, only after my FMIC was installed, Also Now My engine light has come on but the engine sounds fine and no stalling and drives fine(Haven't put it into boost since the light came on)

But yeah it sounds like a VVRRRR Sound also, man this is weird stuff
