? Just had work done on my ride ?

Hey Guys,

More of a reader than a poster and I am a big supporter of forums, keep up the great posts/replys!!! Just took my car in (2002 P5, 54 000 km) for a few things (unfortunately not mods.) The following was done:

-new back calipers
-new break pads
-annual inspection (oil change etc.)
-2 new Toyo Proxes (installed and aligned)

I'm located in Hamilton, Ont. and have been to this mechanic twice now but I have a gutt feeling that I was charged way to much. Now before I announce how much I was charged and embarass the hell out of myself I would like to know what would something like tis cost? I am far from Mechanically inclined and doing work like this is something I aim to learn off these forms and tutorials. But for the time being can I get some feedback or even any others who have had great experiences with mechanics inthe area.

i wouldnt think that could be any more than $400 USD, i know it cost me 300 for new rotors and pads, fluid flush, and wheel allignment

agreed... most mechanics make most of their money on parts.

I would think $400-$450 would have been a fair price.

But I'm guessing you paid in the neighborhood of $700 for some reason...

The 2 tires alone installed / balanced would run close to $300
Oil change, belts, fluids maybe $40
Pads all around, rear calipers over $300
$650+/-

and probably didnt even need new rear calipers to boot

New calipers aren't unheard of if they haven't been maintained.

Probably $1000 max, that's be my guess.

i just did calipers on a pro ES with just a flush, 600 out the door. oil change would be 35, alignment 90, inspection 20 and the two tires prolly 200. so right at a grand. hope you brang your own lube??

i was thinking abour 900-1100 since you replaced your caliper and those suckers are expansive.
