This is my 1st real issue with the car. I was experiencing no acceleration at all, car was studdering big time. Engine light came on and I took it in. The codes pointed out that I need a new #2 coil & plug and need to replace my EGR valve due to carbon build up. The mech. said that there's a real issue with these cars building up carbon. Since money is tight he recomended at least chaning the #2 coil and plug to prevent the misfire. Question is, can I clean out the EGR valve myself???

It was coming up to $1150 for the EGR fix and the #2 coil/plug. I opted to go for the #2 coil/plug now and monitor if the engine light goes back on, then do the EGR fix. What are my options here!?

i had the same exact problems as you...i switched out my coil pack {2},,and my egr was bad.i was also gettin the check engine lights..i bought the egr valve from the dealer,,and i had firestone install.
