I'm so happy, I took delivery of my 2012 Mazda 2 GS this morning!

I've spent about an hour learning to drive a manual transmission. I didn't even stall on my first attempt! I'm still getting used to the clutch though, just need to work on perfecting starts. Rowing through the gears is super easy, and very fun!

The smile on the front of the car matches the smile on my face. :)

haha aweee :) congrats! that is awesome! i still smile everytime i look at my car and ive had it for over a month already :)

Awesome! Nice color choice. I told you learning to drive it would be a breeze. More fun than frustrating. ;)

Figuring out the friction point on the clutch is just a little tricky. I've only driven it for about 3 hours so far though, but I'm starting to get it now. I found that the best practice is just zipping around neigbourhood streets enthusiastically. When you don't leave yourself much time to over think things, it starts to come naturally. Definitely fun.

Have you tried getting the car going with no gas (just 1st, and clutch release)? That might help a little. Lots of time at low speeds in 1st and 2nd should speed up the learning curve.

Yes, I spent a good part of the first couple drives doing that. It's a very helpful exercise to learn how to use the clutch properly. Now I don't have to think about it all that much.

Oooh I love these cars. I need to find someone to let me drive theirs round the block. So curious how these small guys go! :D Love the white too!

That's a good way of going about it. Just don't run over anyone in your neighborhood. ;)

Thanks, I like them a lot too. I didn't realize that they don't come on American Touring models. They come standard in Canada with the GS package.

Just installed some new parts from CorkSport. I'll make a build thread with better pictures, but just thought I'd throw these up for now.
