Just got back from a test drive again...

Idea: I noticed you have a lot of mods, why not restore the car to near-stock, sell the aftermarket parts separately, and sell the car to someone then?

I figure you can easily get what they are saying they'd buy your car for STOCK, and then you'll have all sorts of aftermarket goodies to sell for cash.

I see nice wheels, exhaust, trunk, etc. All of that is valuable to the right buyer. Then the car can go to a person who appreciates making their own mods.

Good idea. Will be a lot of extra work, but it may be worth it in the end if it makes getting the MS3 reasonable/possible then.

I sold my modded wrx for $13,500 2 years ago with 70,000 on the clock. Yours looks nicer than mine so you could prob find the right buyer for 12ish. I guess since the 2.5L WRX's came out the 2.0's values have dropped too, right?

I agree with the others.

Sell as much aftermarket parts you can.

Then wait a bit longer, make some more payments and pay more than your monthly. (say your monthly is 300, put 500). Its not much more but after like 6-9 months, it will count and eat away most of the loan.

Or you can just use the money from everything you sell towards the purchase of the MS3.

But it sucks to be on a negative, thats why if you're not planning on keeping the car, dont finance it. Just lease it. Cause at least with a lease, you have an option to buy when the term is over.

That is one nice looking WRX. Like you said pay it down before you make another purchase, no need to get upside down with another loan.

I also took my first Test Drive the other night and I love the Speed 3. Unlike you my MP3 is paid off but I really dont want payments. By the way your car is nice. Whatever you do dont finance your old car into the new one.

Get that car paid off first otherwise three years from now, you will be even more upside down on your loan. Not worth it for some car when you have one that is running still.

Thanks guys. I am upside down because I was stupid when I bought this and traded in a car and put nearly 0 down on this loan 3 years ago.

I would part it out if I were going to sell. But I dont want to part it out and then not have the loan work out, and be stuck with a stock car. (these cars are not fun stock)

My apartment burned down in the SD fires and Im now starting to get back on feet. I got a nice tax return, and a 1% rebuilding loan from the gov't so I might make a move here in the near future. Maybe pay off my WRX and turn it into a track car and have the MS3 for DD. That would be perfect I think.

Here is a new pic of my WRX lol
