IMO, black and white are the two sexiest colors on cars (yes, even more so than red or yellow). You, by no means, made a mistake with the color.

Here's one more Mazda5 owner. So new that I just got a call from my wife that they worked out a deal and she'll be on her way home with it shortly! This site was helpful in making this purchase and we're in the same situation as most others--have kids and want more seats but don't want a minivan. My wife had given in to reality and we were about to purchase a used '05 Grand Caravan despite neither of us wanting a minivan, an automatic, or mediocre gas mileage. We both fell in love with the Mazda5 and two days after first learning of it we own one. It's nearly the perfect car for what we want at this point in our lives. (We had a loaner for a full day so we've had time to figure out just how awesome it is.) We got a smoking deal too but even with my frugality, this is a lot of car for the money even at full retail. My wife is so thrilled and I confess to wanting to snag it as often as possible.

Thanks to those on this site who have posted with their impressions, both good and bad, and info on the 2007s. It made me a lot more comfortable moving forward on this so quickly.

Thanks for the congrats. My report was just more of the same and I have only a brief exposure to the Mazda5 but I couldn't help myself and figured it might be useful to someone else searching for new owner reports like I did before purchasing. +1 for what has been said elsewhere.

My wife just called me to say that she is home with the new car and let me tell you, she is one ecstatic person!

jlk250, welcome to the family, Mazdamaniac, welcome back. While I do agree that black is a beautiful color on a car, maintenance is a living nightmare. I had a black mustang in the late 80's and I would wash it twice a day at times just to enjoy the "clean" look. The deal you came into would have even made my wife consider the black car, and she was dating me in the mustang days and hated waiting for the car to be washed.

P.S. If you live anywhere that it gets hot, make sure you get the windows tinted ASAP, especially with the current heat wave across the country.

We picked up our Sport 5, just last week. Have about 320 miles on it so far. I've put in the Audiovox flip down DVD rear entertainment system (a must for little ones), 20% tint, all weather mats, roof rails, rack and Thule Excursion. On it's way is the Delphi Roady XT, XM sat. radio. We are taking her to Disney in two weeks. So far I love the vehicle!
