Just finished the intake for my 98' Protege

:
1998 Mazda Protege LX
After looking around online and comparing intakes, which were a slim selection and not a variety worth jumping over. So I decided to just go down to Auto Zone and picked me up this Spectre intake that's originally for a civic, and then grabbed a few couplers and a Spectre cone filter. I was looking for something inexpensive and something easy to install. I think total this was $30 for the original intake, $8 for the couplers (x2), and then $20 for the filter. Tomorrow I will see how the install goes since it looks pretty tight in there and after reading a few posts I'm hoping it works for me. I have a 1998 Protege DX 1.5 and there was not a ton of help anywhere to really make sure this will benefit mr or add any performance in the long run. If anybody wants i can post exactly what part #'s I used and the installation portion. Well wish me luck, I'm feeling confident it will work fairly well.

I had the same problem when I was looking for one for my '98 Mazda Protege. Went to my local auto zone and only found the intakes for Honda's, and Acura's. Let me know if you finagled it for your Mazda!

Seems like it will work after all, real snug on the distributor but this is I would say a perfect match
