can you list the safety precautions for us if you have done it in the past?
sure, look at it this way,as a wise man once said..... nitrous dont blow cars up, people blow cars up... nitrous can be as safe as turbo or supercharger while making more power per giving rpm, though the nitrous manufacture recomend never to spray more than half the factory rated hp so for the fs 2.0 guys that will be
bhp /n20 safety recomended shot
130 /65 max shot recomended.
also there is couple up step u can make sure that makes spraying the n20 safer,
when installing the n20 also wire it to a wide open switch, which make the car a little more harder to blowup, i have detonate more car more than couple of time when running stock timming with 100shot before i backed up my timing.
* I always recomend wet kit due to you dont have to rely on the fpr to get adequte fuel.
*rpm window can be employ here for noobs
* running 50 shot or less do not require retarding the timing or running a colder plug but runing a colder plug wont hurt if you have to,also remember colder plug needs to be gap lower due to electrode stay colder than normal.
* the 1st couple of spray check the plugs condition to make sure you are not running too rich or lean. running too rich can be as bad as running lean and can cause nitrous backfire or bending electrode/grd on the plug.
* after you get your system running smoothly, go find a car to beat on.
*also invest in bottle heater, low bottle pressure to cause too much fuel to enter the intake which can be excessive rich and cause your respond to be weak or the car to be slower while trying to spray.
my 1990 mx6lx come equiped with 110hp stock and im currently running 113hp shot which is over 100% more that stock hp rating, with 205k original miles and i spray the car every chances i get.the compressing test show my compression looks good though they are lower but they are still within 10% of each other and within spec.
