Well, I just bought a 2008 mazda5 Silver Manual trans yesterday with 26k miles, foglights, factory mats and roof rack, rear bumper protection, ect.. Getting it tinted 8 percent in the back and 70 percent in the front today :D

I got it at carmax, great deal btw.. 13998.. and I opted for the 100000 mile extended warranty for a mere 1.7k..

Great deal so far for a hard to find car!

Please post some pictures of it before, and after, the tint. And of course, welcome to the forums!

One thing you'll probably want to do right away is to rotate the tires, then keep track of the mileage and rotate them every 6,000 or 7,000 miles after that. And an oil change of course. There is a thread in the how-to section about oil changes if you are the type to do it yourself, it's not hard and the plastic shield only adds about five or ten minutes to the job.

And where are you located?

I will be doing rotations eventually.. It has a brand new set of tires on the car, front and back and the oil was changed the minute that I got it, Im probally going to switch to synthetic like I have in my MINI. Im in Shingle Springs, CA

DUDE! YOU STOLE MY CAR!

Couldn't get to it in time, sounds like it went to a good home though. ENJOY!

Congrats on the great deal and your new to you Mazda 5. I got my 2007 about 7 months ago and still love it. I'm sure you will enjoy the manual as much as i do.

Welcome and congrats! Will you be able to see out back with 8% though? :| My tint's about 25% and I'm already thinking of replacing just the back hatch window with 40-50% to make it easier to see (that or get a backup camera)

Congrats.....That is the only thing that I wish my 5 had....The 5MT...other than that...I love it and so will you

The tint looks good, 8 percent was perfect if your in the Sacramento area, my guy rocks! 916.969.3381 he did the WHOLE car, any percent for $160 with lifetime tint and a great job.

By the way... I think the tint isnt too dark, but im kinda bias, I have 3% in my MINI. It looks clean and will help with the California sun.

Sorry to disagree, but I have found that on FWD vehicles, it is better to do your rotations @ less than 5K mi. I rotate every 3K personally. (Free rotos where I bought the tires)

I just picked up my 08 in iowa last week and drove it up to the Great White North! It's all stock except I had to rewire the fogs for DRL's to meet gov't regs. Putting on a wind deflector -it has saved alot of chips and maybe a windshield or two n the past. looking at the tint it's perfect! I'll have to check the laws up here. I have the almost the same car except for the rear spoiler,AT, and a sunroof. It took alot of searching to find it.
Later!

I'm looking at, read dreaming, putting some Mazdaspeed3 rims and tires on it and using the snowflake rims for winters. I've read in other forums that its a direct swap. The rims include the sensors so i'm convincing myself that it would be a good deal at $800. As for car details - 2008 Touring AT 24,000 miles in excellent condition for $14500. The duty and taxes brought it up but I could not find one this nice within 1000kms!
