i remember pulling in a bowling alley parking lot as soon as i got my header and mounts installed, and i was walking in, one of the guys said... what u got in there.... i said cai 421 header to 2.25 full exhaust, mounts and sleeve and springs.... he then said cool... is it tein? i was like i wish.... then he said, i got tein on mine.... i was like yours? hoping there was another p5 out there i could talk to.... yea.... my wrx wagon is over there....i was thinking.... he cant be mistaking my car for a..... i said... cool.... the guy mustve been blind, deaf and dumb as Anne Frank, (Clerks II reference)... and i went with it.... knowing that i have an NA motor and his was turbocharged.... wtf...

I havent got any comments like that, Just props from random people in parking lots or anywhere...Everyone I know loves my car and people are actually surprised to hear its a protege, i just refer to it as a mazda P5 for the OOOOOOOOOOOOOO effect..I had some random older guy with his kids who had parked next to me at walmart 4 months back with a stock yellow P5 and he was walking around my car with his kids when i walked out with a look of bewilderment on his face, he was facinated, he didnt know they made after market parts for the protege5 and he was stoked! I started it up for him and showed the cai and header and exhaust, told him about the forums and protege garage, im wouldnt be surprised if he was on the forums now with his reaction, wither that or his wife regulated the mod bug...i like it when people get excited over my car cause it gets me excited all over again, hehe

Who cares what other people think, your protege can LOOK completely stock on the outside, its whats on the inside that they dont see. They can rag on your car all they want, but they dont understand something, a protege (Mazda) owner shows their car how they see it, not how others do. Yea, I drive a mazda, but i make that mazda stand out proudly. With what i like to say, a stock mazda isn't a happy mazda, when you start adding headers, body-kit, ect. It begins to show you its happy from the loud expression comming from the heart of the Car and the exhaust.Its Mazda people like us that really understand the appreciation of our cars and that no one else has that. I waive the MAZDA FLAG high and clear!!!
