I just bought a 1986 rx7. It is a 13b NA fc3s. White with red interior. It has 180k but only one owner. I paid $1200 and I have plans to make it a track car. It is a base model with steel rims with 4 lugs.

I am planning a Corksport intake, radiator, shroud, hoses, exhaust, NGK Spark Plugs and wires. Stainless steel brake and clutch lines, racing seats and a full roll cage. I will be stripping the interior and removing the a/c and the air pump.

awesome!!! im always on the lookout for FCs that need a new home from an owner that has it for sale at huge undervalue lol.

definitely post pics and progress!

I will take some pics tommorow. I put in an optima yellow top and started it up today for the first time. I need to put the exhaust back on because the previous owner pulled it off. I also upgraded the tail lights to the jdm circle lights. Just need to get my stickers and I will be rolling...

Invest in a RB header. Best mod for the NA cars. The round lights are from the 89-91 models, nothing really JDM about them. I will be following this thread. Can't wait to see pics.

Update:

I pikcked up a set of 4 piston front brake calipers off a convertable today along with some ngk spark plug wires. I need to get a set of 5 lug front rotors and redrill the lug holes so it will work on my 4 lug. Add a set of 3 mm wheel spacers and my front brakes are done. Now I just need to get the parts for the rear so I can switch to the vented rear brakes.

Why do I not like the sound of what you plan on doing (nailbyt). You should just do it properly & get the 5lug hubs & rotors also. The 4lug rotors are also smaller in size & width & may not work properly with the bigger calipers.

I am going to switch to the 5 lug rotors. I am doing a budget build. The car was in very rough shape when I got it and there is almost no resale value in my car so I am just doing this on the cheap. Below is a link for How To 4 piston front brakes with 4 lugs. I would not attempt something like this normally, but is seems like it would be fun...

Installed a racing seat on the drivers side. And removed the rear seats. I will probably sell them or trade them for storage bins. I will post pics whenever possible...

I sold the S5 tail lights on ebay and for now the build is on hold. I have to get more cash so i might end up selling the car... I would love to keep it because it is so fun to drive, but im in between jobs right now and $ is KING!

Sold the car today, but I got a good price. Maybe when I get some proper cash I will get a FD or Rx8... Either way I will miss the rx7, RWD was soooo much fun...
