i got confused, haha, i thought that the other guy made the T3 comments, so i was talkin to both of you i guess

hold on a second. no need to get all nasty I was speaking of a T3. fine even the standard stage T3 with the .48 housing and standard compwheel and housing is rated higher and can surpass the t25 ( happy )
now in regards to your boost comments i have always stated the dangers of turning up the boost too high on the stock motors
and never mind the exhaust bulls***. you cant go over 2.5 i think on the STOCK flange
so how is he going to put a 3" downpipe and full exhaust. it is bull.

it might look like this..2.5" flange expanded to full 3" after..but anyways.....im not getting a msp anytime soon..still not sure if im gettin one at all..so no reason for me to be here..so yea,,,this'll be my last post...just tryin to help you guys make some educated decisions so you dont screw anything up..i always get into fights. ask need4speed...i always get fights into this board that me and him frequent....along with a couple other dsm boards (but its hard not to since most dsmers are aholes)....so with that said, my sincerest apologies for my agressive tone at times...but its fustrating sometimes when ppl wont listen....no hard feelings, eh?

Apexi: Yes the GT25 turbo may be small BUT will outperform a T28 and a 'Big T28 Killer' turbo.
If anyone wants valid information please direct your comments to Marco at www.magnusmotorsports.com who knows how to build 1/4 mile vehices. Rather than someone who knows zero.

Hey- I spoke with Marco- he said he was told the car has a GT25R on it, but has not even looked to see for himself. The GT25R is totally different than a GT25 - the R flows like 44-48 lbs/min the GT 25 is like 28!!! Good for about 300 hp max if you tune the balls out of it.

It will not outperform my pencil sharpener :D

I am not saying that it is not right either. I have read that the MSP has a T25, GT25 and a GT25R. If it is a GT25R (killer turbo, doubt they'd waste it on a 170hp 6.9psi car), then the info is correct. It all depends on what is true about the turbo on the MSP. I know it is not a standard T25, so that is out of the question. I will look a bit more into it and get back to you guys.. He is not wrong about the HP potential of that turbo, but it may not be the turbo on this car.

OK, just got off the phone with my turbo guy.

The GT25 and GT25R are the same turbo, if you read GT25- it is only because they left the R off...

However- the GT25R designation is just like saying you have a T3. There are several combos. He says this is one of the smaller GT25R's and probably good for about 300 CRANK hp.. If I get him the part number, he will give me all the specs along with compressor maps on it and then we won't be specualting anymore.. The GT25R turbos flow from as low as 28 lbs/min to as high as about 45 lbs/min- so that is where the 400 WHP thing came from, that was assuming the largest of the GT35R.

As long as I can see the ID tag on my turbo, I will get the part number to him and get the correct info on our turbo.
Joe

I should have mentioned- see what happens when you base all your info off the web and he said she said bulls***. I was even misinformed as to the turbo designation by reading the info on the web :).
Joe

JoeP: Thankyou very much for the support.
'people' often hear, think, and read different things and take it for truth off the internet before actually knowing the facts.
Ps. Marco from Margus says hey, and he also knows that you are not an internet loser as to the facts.

so even the web site made a mistake.. y do i see tha they r making a "Mazda MP3 turboback exhaust"
is that for our msp or for ppl that turbo their mp3?

Hehe, no problem.. I actually started to read stuff on the turbo here and on other sites and saw two different names- GT25 and GT25R the GT25 was listed on one site as the 28 lbs/min I mentioned and Marco said the GT25R was 44 lbs/min. That is were I got the idea they were two different turbos. Now that it has been clarified that it is only the one in different configurations (again like saying "I have a T3"), I will get to the bottom of this. Marco was right about the 400 HP, just not with the GT25R in this configuration.

I was able to get my part number off my turbo, so I will call my guy tomorrow and have him break it down and get the compressor maps from him also.

300hp is still decent, just below my goals :).

Nice work Joe! It's nice to have some solid info to clear up these muddy waters!

But...300hp is just BELOW your goals!?

:O

Daayam! I just want to get closer to 200 and iron out the occasional lurchy pull!
LOL

*if* I follow through with my plans on giving this to my girlfriend in a year or so and getting a Lancer (Evo, not OZ Rally edition- duh :) ), then 300 will be ok :).. If I keep it, I want 450+ to the wheels- built motor, stand alone, blah, blah... I was thinking of getting my Talon back and parting it out to build the MSP- take my Haltech, turbo, IC, fuel system, injectors, etc. for the MSP and sell what was left of the Talon :)..

now your talkin!!:D

Yeah- Mazda has their own part number on it.. It does not use a Garrett Part # :(. If someone has one off, it can be taken apart and measured, but it cannot be looked up by the number it has on it..

Apexi- why are you so hell bent on saying it is the same? The smallest GT25R flows 28 lbs/min. That is closer to a small 16G than the T-25 you are somparing it to.. Still not a "real" turbo in my opinion and will become a paperweight by the end of the year, but not exactly a POS like the T25 either.
Joe

IT IS THE EXACT SAME TURBO AS MY ECLIPSE, EXCEPT IT IS BALL BEARING RATHER THAN SLEEVE, and does not have a mitsu exhaust housing like mine...which doesnt make a difference! why do you guys think its some super turbo? IT ISNT!

edit: im done arguing...were not getting anywhere..were both stubborn bastards..unnecessary stress.
