what is different with your new MBC(xz) compared to the old one??

If you look at the pics, you can see the hardware difference. Other than that- The XZ uses a new spring that I get custom wound to my specs, the other uses an off the shelf spring I used for years. They perform almost identical, I just really wanted to offer two options to my customers. Thanks.

joe ! if i get ur MBC w/ 10psi...i should run 94 octane or better right !? (w/ the fcd too)

someone asked earlier about this and i didn't see an answer. Do you need to get an FCD if you have the flash and plan on running 10 psi?

thanks

If u have a turbo car u should run 94 oct. ALL the time, with or without higher boost!!! Read ur owners manual, it will tell u to only use premium gas. The higher the oct. the less likely u will detonate under boost.

You are thinking of the FPR (Fuel Pressure Reducer). The FPR is the only thing u may not want to use with the flash because it leans out the A/F ratio. However, I have the flash and still use the FPR with no probs as of yet. The FCD is a must have (even with the flash) if u want to boost +9 psi on a cold day!!!

gotcha, right now my joe p mbc every 90 degrees is about 1 psi. a full turn was 4psi. Im happy with it.

Joe, I would like to get a FCD. Were u able to investigate the thing about the few people that claimed to get det. with the FCD? I wonder if they all had CAI on, I know that u used urs with the stock intake box. Could there be a connection with the CAI?

Oh sure, the week after I order your hat trick it all goes on sale. Hey Joe, through a cookie in the box (going to CT), to make me feel better!(dance)

I just ordered the MBC and FCD from you joe. When will it be sent out.................J/k

I am really happy to see you are still helping us out after all the s*** you were put through.

I would run the best gas you can at all times regardless, but ESPECIALLY if you turn the boost up. Turbo cars need the added protection of higher octane fuels once you start messing with them. Evn more so since the MSP is ridiculously high compression for a turbo car to start with.

Here you go, this was copy/pasted right from a boost/compression ratio calculator with 10 psi, 10:1 compression and 1200' altitude-
Boost and Altitude Correction to Compression
You are running 10 PSI of boost at an altitude of 1200 feet. Your motor's static compression is 10 :1. At this boost level and altitude your effective compression ratio is- 16.56 :1, and without altitude correction your compression ratio would be 16.80 :1.

So that should answer ANYONES question about octane :).. Even more important if you are post-flash!!!

so....this is only a SALE! right? not a Group Buy?

Correct. I was thinking of seeing if someone wanted to do a group buy on the FCD so I could get better pricing, but after looking into it, I would need 100 to get another discount, so I just decided to go with the sale instead. Thanks.

I just have to go by customer feedback unfortunately.. I will say that having a stock or free flowing exhaust, what octane fuel you use, psi you are running, etc. will all affect it I would run 10.5 psi or so with Sunoco Ultra 94 and I had a good exhaust. Trying to push higher than stock boost levels through a stock exhaust and, even worse, CAT!!, will only make matters worse.

That is why from day one I have said the FCD is for experienced tuners only- you should not be playing with boost beyond a factory cut point unless you really know what you are doing or at least can maintain it reliably- better fuels, plugs, etc.. Once you start to play, there is no cheaping out and putting like 87 octane in it because you are short on $$$ that week- detonation doesn't care about your wallet and will only make it worse while it is greedily eating away at your pistons :).

I get so many emails asking me to just stick around for the "good" guys that I almost have to :). Everytime someone posts anything stupid, I get about 10 emails saying "ignore that guy, he is an asshole anyway" :).. It means something to have so many people here backing me even though there was a ton of BS also. I just hope there is nothing over these orders... Between it being a sale price and the bitching, I think I would have an anurism :)..
