Jiffy Lube caught on tape scamming

I went to my local Jiffy Lube once for a tranmission flush.
They forgot to put some screws back on the the plastic covering under the engine bay and when I confront them about it, they blame that it's normal that those screws will come loose on the road and not their fault.
They also left a foot long clamping tool inside my engine bay on top of the battery.

Good link, by the way!!!! :) Need to show this to more people.

One time I stripped an oil drain plug, I went to Jiffy Lube to see if they had a plug. The guy gave me(no charge) a quick connect so I could at least drive it until I bought a new oil pan. This is the one in Cinci, Blue Ash area.

Like any franchise, some are good, some are bad.

Good vid though.

true. I never had a problem with them. And no, i don't do the oil changes on my street cars. i got better things to do than to crawl on the garage floor doing it. Go in, 30-40 minutes and I'm done. no mess, etc. Just gotta politly say 'no' to all the extra stuff they try to sell.

Oh, don't even get me started on Jiffy Lube. They one time I go there, they lock my Keys in the car. I tell them not to jimmy open the door and I will go get my spare keys (I lived 5 blocks away). I come back, they jimmied open the door and broke the locking mechanism (WTF). I told them not to touch my car any more, and they are going to pay to fix the door. It ended up being ~$200 to fix and they did pay me back. Still not a good experience.

The one and only time I have been to jiffy lube. (store was downtown Sacramento, CA)

that's why you always check the color and "newness" of fluids after you get them changed somewhere.

I had to run in there one time to get my oil changed in my supercharged Dakota R/T, and they were trying to tell me that I had five bulbs out on each taillight! The Dakota has two white stripes for the reverse, so there must be two bulbs then right? Two screws later and the Manager gave me a decent discount.

Once they put GL-4 in my manual trans in my Cosworth, which has a Borg Warner T-50 with reverse shift pattern and very close tolerances for 9000 rpm operation, after I told them it had to have ATF. They swore all manuals took GL-4 so I quickly corrected them with a factory service manual. It took them two hours to flush all the GL-4 out of the trans and put the ATF in.

Also on my Dakota they told me that the oil on my K&N was from the supercharger and a bad PCV. They said I had to buy a new one because of the boost. I had to explain the process of cleaning and oiling of K&N filters.

Thats just disgusting. I wonder if any sort of appropriate reprecussions came to those 5/9 Jiffy Lubes mentioned in the video?

wow, i used to work at jiffy lube for about a year and although i know that my store never robbed a customer, or at least not that i know of, stories would come in from customers that went to different ones and did get robbed

I used to go to a local "quick lube" shop until one time I stopped and there was a very irate woman at the counter. She saw that I had just come in and asked me if I was there for service. I told her I was, and she informed me that the ass-clowns working there had just managed to drop her car off the lift and she was waiting for the police to show up because these guys were actually giving her a hard time!!!! I prompty left and never went back.

3 years ago Jiffy Lube bought someone on these boards a new engine......after they forgot to put a drain plug in and fill the car up with oil.

HOLY s***. It sounds like that DM was purposely telling his store managers to rip people off that looked unsuspecting.
