Hey guys. Just had my JIC FLT-A2's installed and am wondering something. My back right dampening adjustbility knob won't turn. :( What's the problem? Should I try and use excessive force or no?

BTW I will write a full write up. HOLY s***. That's all I have to say about thses coil overs. I walked into the parts shop where I got them installed and all the mechanics just gathered around gawking at them. When I first got into the car and drove off, I seriously thought I was in a Porsche. AND ITS ON THE SOFTEST SETTING! I haven't even tried to turn the dampening to hard, partially because I can't with the rear right knob not working, lol.

get some swaybars and youll be set. I hear those are amazing. smart mod.

So they are really worth the money? I was thinking about getting them but i was afraid of all the noise and bounciness. Thats what i experienced with the Ground Control, damn what am i saying? How can i compare JIC to Ground Control. I just want to know if they are worth the money. Plus how low can you go? and at the lowest point do you feel any uncomfrontability? Or does it ride like stock?

Bro,

I hope they installed them correctly. I wish you had waited for those instructions. Sean and I are writing them up as we said. I know you were anxious but I'm afraid they may not have been installed correctly. It's urgent that i speak with you. I hope you were present when they were installed.

Thanks, Rishie

There are certain things I must explain like setting the spring preload and how to adjust the height. If you can take pics of the suspension on the car i would appreciate it.

When adjusting the damping you must always turn it to 0, soft which is counterclockwise, and then clockwise to the harder setting. There are only 15 settings and the dial may seem to have more clicks but they are not functional.

for example, currently set at 6 want to go to 8, you should go back to 0 and then up to 8.

Try jiggling the knob slightly. And please Bobby call me at the shop. The number is in the sig. Man had i known i would have told you over the phone how to install them or at least what to tell the guys. Hopefully these guys have installed these before.

Thanks, Rishie

Oh s*** Rishie, did I **** up really bad? All I can tell (cons) as of now, is that it rides really "wavy". I have all wheels set all the way clockwise except the one that wont move! The guy seemed VERY knowledgable. I am going to try to get the thing to jiggle and move. Otherwise, I will call the shop. I don't have jack stands, thats the problem, and I don't have the money to go buy some. So I really can't get the wheels off to take pictures. I don't think. I hope I didn't really **** up. :( Also, when riding, I can almost hear my wheels in the back hitting the wheelbase. :( I'll call you dude.

EDIT : Tried wiggling and it wouldn't move still. :( I wasn't there to watch him install them, but I was there to watch him install 2 rear camber kits and do the alignment. If this is really bad, then I will wait 'til next paycheck and then maybe I can somehow buy the equipment and "re-install" them?

Don;t compare them to Ground Control, lol. Wait until I get all this s*** sorted out and then I will give a full review.

Are you sending me instructions also?http://www.msprotege.com/vbb225/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18815

If you guys have an issue like this adjustment knob things please call me. We are here to answer questions. There are a few people that have these babies but not many. Your best solution is to call your dealer.

With regards to the adjustment knob not moving you will need a thin 9mm socket or open ended wrench. Remove the lower shock bracket on that side. You will need to loosen the 9mm nut above the adjuster just a tad. This will allow for the adjuster to move.

Do this immediately. In fact your installer should have checked these things prior to install. Set damping and everything before installing.

Rishie,

Have you finished the instructions yet?

Hey Rishie, so should I tell Darrin (Westend Alignment guy) all this stuff? He sounds like he's done FLT-A2's before. :) But I'm supposed to set all the damping and everything before installation right? (usually what's done- haha) Should I check the knobs before installation right now? Set everything to "0"? Thanks Rishie.

Rex

Yes, please check all of that stuff first. Set the suspnesion where you see fit. About 2 front and 3 rear. Or just 0 all around.

However do not install them. The rear lower shock brackets need to go back to JIC for them to slot the bolt hole ot allow for camber adjustment in the rear.

Please call Kevin and talk to him about it. I will be going thru all who have purchased them today.

Thanks, Rishie

Thanks as always for being so helpful to everyone on the board!

Thanks Rishie. I appreciate it. :) OH, and Kevin said to just have Darrin slot it or dremel it to adjust. Haha. What do you think? :) What exactly needs to be done? I can just tell Darrin that. Thanks again!
