So I ordered my obx header from chris at spd racing and I'm going to ship it to jethot to have it coated in their sterling finish, 1300* tolerance for $165. Has anyone had their header coated from jethot? and if you have do you have any pic's, they also said it was supposed to raise horsepower.
Thanks.

mmmmn, jet-hot

I'm sure someone out there has coated a header, but I've never seen it. I know it would look awesome though...

looks so nice....i want a turbo!

Try to find a local place as well. Jet-Hot is nice, but at this point in the [ceramic, hi-performance] coating game, Jet-Hot isn't the only player.

Look for other places locally - save the shipping and support a local shop (try asking around or checking Mustang, F-body, etc. websites..those guys eat that ceramic stuff like crazy..)

so do you know of any other reputable companies? Sucks that jet hot is in mississippi.

AWR Header jet-hot coated

here is a pic of mine. Sorry I dont seem to have one of the header out of the car. It looks damn near the same 5000 miles later. Jet hot was a great company to deal with. If you call them, they will send you all kinds of info for free. Def recommended.

Wow, that looks nice!
Thanks MH. The header/jet-hot was the best mod I have done yet. Worth the 700 bucks I spent. I think. :)

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with the OBX header and get it coated.

$400 > $700 in this case.

it says " AWR Header (jet-hot coated)" in his sig...

you must have sigs turned off

also, does anyone make a stainless fastener kit for the header to mount to the block?

I bought a set of ARP 400-8023 -10 pack studs - 8mm x 1.25 x 45mm
http://www.arp-bolts.com/media/pdf_files/SC_54-58.pdf

I replaced the two middle studs with the ARP and reused the stock hex head cap screws. 45mm length is a perfect fit though you could try a longer size too.

Having the ability to thread the stud into the head using a socket head is so money - makes removing and installing so much easier. Plus you don't run that great a risk of shearing a stud off if you overtorque or look at them funny (boom02)

Dimitrios, if you don't mind me asking, how much did those studs run you? Also, I know you said we could try a longer size but would you recommend this? Finally, why did you only replace the two middle studs? That last question may be stupid, but since I'm in Korea and my car is in Maryland I can't go to the garage and take a look. Thanks.
