To answer your questions:

I bought them through Summit Racing: http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=esearch.asp&N=100&Ntk=PartSearch&Ntt=ARP-400-8023 pricey, yes. But you get what you pay for with ARP fasteners: less concern for shearing off a stud while tightening, ease of installation with an Allen/hex head wrench, etc, and the 12-point hardened nuts definitely are great (little concern about rounding non-existent corners, etc). Plus, they look great theyre a high alloy stainless so they dont get as dirty or corroded as other fastener material.

45mm (length) is just about the perfect replacement for the middle, upper row studs in other words about the same length as the OEM supplied ones. I pretty much destroyed them during removal (was going to replace them anyway). If I went any longer, Id go with a 50mm, but thats about it. The 45mm will give you about 3-4 threads showing beyond the nut on a ~3/8 header flange after a proper torque and Im content with that.

The middle two studs I replaced primarily because as stated, I destroyed the two stock ones on removal. I currently have a Wagner shorty header and removing the middle two studs makes for an easier removal installation as you dont need to shift the exhaust back so that the manifold/header flange will clear the studs. If you just remove them (and the Allen heads on the ARP fasteners helps you do to that) you can just clear the manifold/header easier.

If you want to replace all the hex head cap screws (bolts) and the two studs with the ARP studs, Id se no problem with that. Just make sure you follow proper stud installation procedures (made easier with the ARP socket or hex head ends).

Hope this helps.
