What is the deal with the Jet chip that is supposedly for our car? i love the idea of chips, due to teh normal bang for your buck, but is there one that is compatible with our car? I know some ppl said they have them in theirs, notice any difference? I would love to get this mod done, but want to find out abotu teh model # and other specifics. And can you hide it form the fealer for warrenty? Thanks guys!

GOOD QUESTION I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ALSO I KNOW THAT ANY HONDA OR THERE CAR THAT HAS IT CAN DEFINATELY FEEL A DIFFERENCE......SO IF ITS THERE I WANT IT ALSO LET ME KNOW

It has been common knowledge in the SE-R world that a certain company's ECU <cough> was dyno-tested as having nothing improved.

The ECU was resocketed, but replaced with the exact same program as factory.

Now, this pertains to SE-Rs, so Im not asking to assume that this is for every make.

Dont believe anything until someones buys one *and* dyno tests it.

Im sure there are horror stories about chips, but with the reputable company, it's easy to get a good chip. They work under a very simple concept. Mazda (and all other manufacturers) tune the motor -- including valve timing, gearing, and parts, among others -- to run on standard 87 octane gasoline. As we all know, when too-low octane is put in a car, you get knocks and dings. However, by changing the CPU, you can change timing, fuel injection, etc, forcing you to use higher octane fuel, but also tightening performance. THis is how a chip works. THere MUST be a chip out for the mazda, it shares the same motor as the Ford Focus, which is now becoming more popular for customization. If ANYONE knows anything about a chip for our beloved P5, let us all know!!!!! feel free to email me at firstwords@hotmail.com

sorry to break it to you but the 2.0 focus engine and the 2.0 protege engine are not the same. the chip will not work in our cars
