Jerky P5?

So I told you guys I was about to get an P5...well today I went for a test drive in it and I'm not too impressed. However, I would like to ask what the benchmark for the P5 should be like. Here are some observations I made of the car that made me awry.

1) When engine starts seems to shake a lot (but what car doesn't? Anyone have a video by any chance of how much your engine shakes when starting?)

2) Seemed like the car was jerky when shifting (manual)

3) Ride wasn't as smooth as I'd expect, but I did come from driving a Ford Explorer

4) No rust on the body at all, but the wheels are? I find that a little awkward...

Anyways, whats your guys input on this? Thankis!

It isn't the smoothest idling car at the best of times. If the motor mounts are shot, and they often are, it will shake a lot more. Search in this forum for info on the mounts.

Driver error? (peep)

The suspension is very stiff. Look elsewhere if you want that "floating on a cloud" feeling.

The wheels aren't iron so cannot rust. The rotors can, and they do.

also the mount situation is also a reason for the iffy shifting feeling....i had the same and replaced the mounts.....it runs a lil viby(but they are still new and not broken in) but shifting is nice

got same mount problem. easy fix. from onlienmazdaparts its about 330 with free shipping. prob cost about 100-150 at a shop to fix or you can do it yourself and it'd take about an hour or two. the car is sick though, you should still buy it, its not about speed, its about the cornering and steering. hence the low profile tires that come stock

agreed. This is not a car for someone who doesn't enjoy driving or the connection to the road. If you just want a wagon Subaru makes a few versions.

Yeah it's just looking at all the videos on youtube the camera hardly shakes and made me expect a car that was much less "shaky" on the inside haha. I searched up ways to inspect the motor mount, do I just poke my finger in there or must I disassemble in order to check?

the pass side you can just look at....the front you might be able to see if you can get under the car, same with the rear, the trenny mount is under the bat soo.....

but if the pass side is cracked....chances are the other ones are too....you can get a new set of after markets that hold good for around 200
