JDM_Pro5's Build Thread

^Midas tech parked me there after putting my tires on, He backed out of the bay straight into that spot and left it lol. He told me I was badass for parking there (I still don't understand his reasoning lol)

A few updates. MSP calipers, rotors, lines, and brake pads all came in today. First thing is paint, then installation.

Turbo Update: My FMIC will not work with my setup since it was designed specifically for the MSP's shorter Radiator. I am trading this FMIC for a stock Cobalt SS fmic. Here are pics of it mocked up on a MSP

Disassembled the calipers, Cleaned everything in the parts wash, took a wire brush to everything to remove all dirty and rust, resurfaced rotors. Started painting. Assembly and installation is tomorrow

Be a shame if...someone polished those brake calipers....
I like em red :)

Lol. The casting is so nasty, it would take forever to level them before thinking about polishing.

polished looks fine on a show car that never gets driven just parked in the garage and claims made about all the power it has. Functional daily driven cars do well with painted calipers, and those look great on your car Cameron now paint the damn bumper.

Could clearcoat the polish and just wipe it off occasional. I polished up a daily driven caddys brake calipers last month :)

my bad i forgot you were the only person to ever polish anything.. go back to polishing your show car pieces.

I know better than too respond to this, but whatever.

1. I said that I liked the red paint.
2. I have never said anything about how much power anything has, or anything about a show car.
3. I guess you have never seen a polished motorcycle for one, you can ride them hundreds of trips and just wipe them off with some oil every once In a while without developing rust spots. The same goes for proper clear coating of ANY metal.

Now this being said, I don't want to clutter up this thread. Continue on your way good sirs.

Adding to my wish List:

GlowShift 02-07 Subaru WRX & STi Fiberglass Triple Dash Gauge Pod

Boost Gauge- Mechanical Amber/White Performance Series 52mm (2 1/16")

Wideband Air Fuel Ratio Gauge, Prosport Halo Series 52mm (2 1/16")

As long as he gets them PC after he sees if he likes them or not. That's what you told us so I expect nothing less...but i guess we've been waiting for that front bumper to be painted for a while too :p

I wanna see the color ASAP! Ha I wish they had something like a bronze, but if the vintage gold looks kinda like the STI rims, I guess I'll be okay with it.

They sell a tint that you mix in with the gallon's of paint. Basically you can mix up any color you want with Plastidip. ಠ_ಠ
