I know I'm not the only one going for this look and I'm pretty sure apex is coming with me just thought we could all share our plans....kind of a community within the community.

So far I'm thinkin 16" Regamaster evo's or a set of N1R Becketts
Then maybe the dgmotorsport cf front lip
autoexe grill insert or dg cf insert
Tein or jic coilovers
stoptech or willwood brake kit (gotta find a kit that will fit in 16's)
and hope by then that someone's turbo kit's been smogged

When I moved out here from Baltimore I had to sell my car cause the smog ref told me it was totally illegal, I bought the B16B BECAUSE it was a JDM engine, I spent the extra $$ to get that engine over the B18C1, then I find out any jdm engine is illegal in california. Oh well, at least in this state I know what is and what isn't legal, not like Md where it's up to the inspector and more likely than not, everything's illegal.

Towson, I'm pretty sure you've met a guy out there named Stan, blue mp3 injen intake. He's one of my best friends and actually the person that convinced me to even consider going to look at a mazda (I was a die-hard honda fan).

I too will be going the JDM route. The main thing that stands in my way is finding out how to de-orange my MP3 headlamps. I know I could just open them up, but I'm really worried about headlamp fogging. Anyhow, the following is what I plan on doing in the comming months. I have separated my modding into three stages so I won't put myself in the poor house.

Stage 1: Flat Black 17 inch Black Racing Pro N1's w/ Yokohama AVS ES100's, Skunk2 Coilovers (Temporary lowering fix), window tint, JIC Titanium Muffler, AutoEXE Front Grill

Stage 2: Carbon Fiber Hood, DG Carbon Fiber Front Lip Spoiler, DG Carbon Fiber Eyelids

Stage 3: Engine, fuel & exhaust system work........(sssh) Still undecided and waiting for future engine enhancements.

Stage 1 and 2 are inevitable and I'm tired of everyone always looking at Subywans wagon and not my car when we go out somewhere.

Wow! a B16B = Civic Type R = 185hp nice engine! Too bad your in Cali.

Thank God there's others out there who think clean and JDM looks good. I'm so tired of gaudy chrome and fiberglass body pieces. My car's slowly coming together, I'm sure there's still lots I'm going to do with it but just off the top of my head I know I'm doing the Mazdaspeed or Bride sport seats, Mintblue sideskirts, JIC exhaust, Wilwood 4 pot calipers, Tein SS coilovers with the electronic damping for controller. In terms of engine work, I really really hope that Oscar Jackson makes a supercharger for our cars sometime soon but if not, I'll have to settle for the Callaway developed Mazdaspeed turbo. I'm really not overly concerned with straight line speed, I just want to make my car handle even better than it does now, to do that I think I'll have to spring for the $1500 Quaife limited slip. I already ordered my personalized license plates too, they should be here in a few weeks, I'll post pics when they're on, but they say: JDM MP3 What about you Protege Type 5? I know you're tastes lean towards the JDM also, what are your plans for your car?

flat black with beckett's, but I'm more than likely going with the regamasters in gunmetal now

6.5lbs a piece ....... over $400 a piece but well worth the $$ I had a set of the spoon versions on my old car same size, same weight, and those things were strong as hell ....... handled road courses at watkins glen, summit point, and mid ohio ....... handled 2 maryland winters without a scratch.

hehe, i love personallized tags, as soon as i get the mods listed below in my signature im getting TRBOMP3. hopefully all that will be on my car by around christmas or so, i guess the look im going for is poorboy JDM, with the replicas and such, i would love to have the real thing, but its just out of my price range right now. i think once i have some more money ill invest in some racing seats also, and more carbo fiber goodness. most of the cash im earning right now is chipping in on medical bills so this broke arm thing doesnt hurt my parents too much, and turbo goodies. but appearance mods will come soon!!!! mmmmmm..... JDM (hump)
