Hi i got a jdm engine and i dont know what it is
on each cylinder i've 260psi on it the intake is'nt the same as the north america and the manifold is a littlebit twisted.
i've also fs39 written on intake camshaft
there's no VRIS on the intake
and this engine has a coil pack
plz help i'll post pics soon

that's the pics
if someone could help

i'll correct i've on cylinder
#1 = 260psi
#2 = 225psi
#3 = 225psi
#4 = 260psi

that's it plz help meeeeeeee... thanks

looks like the fs-ze motor.. it is a high compression engine if i remember correctly..
thanks but are you sure .... i want to be sure before putting it into my car

I agree, defentaly a FS-ZE.

there is a marking on the engine block itself that will say either FS or FP. regardless, those compression numbers seem super high even for an FSZE.

it's written FS on the valve cover

Did the JDM spec FS engines have the coilpacks like that? I almost wanted to say it was a FP too just because of that..

it's written FS on the valve cover

yeah, with a magic marker, the engraving ken is talking about is on the engine block.. and is put there when it's manufactured. It'll probaly be around the second exhaust port (assuming the first is the one farthest left facing the front of the engine)

yes the FS-ZE used the same ignition setup as the us FP (see attached)

the heads and valve covers are the same between the two. check the block.

that's not the right one, keep going down, its on the black area (the long block) look where I suggested. It'll say either FP or FS. Nothing else

Where's the resonator on the intake manifold? That leads me to believe this is NOT the FS-ZE.

My brother has an FS-ZE in his '00, so it's one of the things to look for.

he did get it seperate from the car, mabye someone just took it off.

He got the IM seperate from the motor? I didn't read that anywhere (the resonator doesn't come off the FS-ZE IM.)

he got the engine seperate from the car..his IM is VRIS-less , so there's not a good chance it's a FP either, since all FP motors had VRIS IM's.

i've check but this engine comes by boat and the plate is removed on the block and i didnt know what it is I think it's a mystery.

One thing is sure it's a FS engine (i check it on the block) maybe a FS-DE from japan?!?!?! but the compression test lie to this ... so .... i'm desesperate
(omg)
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

you've been screwed
it's a JDM FS-DE off of an MPV... the intake manifold is similar to the 2000 626 intake manifold we have here except it has a resonator built in for better low and top end response, but that's about it... it does NOT have VICS (there's no such thing as "VRIS" on 4 bangers), since only proteges (in every country) got a VICS intake manifold on the FS-DE or FP-DE

the cams used in the MPV version of the FS-DE are different than the 626 or protege ones... they are designed for more low end torque.... power for this engine is rated 135ps at 6000 rpm and torque 18kgm at 4000rpm

I'm curious to see what will happen when that intake manifold is put on an MSP... maybe it'll get better gains or smoother power compared to the 626 intake manifold since the FS-ZE's intake manifold has already shown that it does increase power at the top end and maintains it down low when those cams are used also
