I know if you buy from retail you get all kinds of benefits like returns/extended warrenty and probably free installation ... but their profit margin is just freakin' high !

I would highly suggest getting the deck form a dealer of any kind so you can atleast get the 1 year parts and labor warrenty. Flip face radios are never 100%.

the 50 watts MAX POWER that your head is rated for and the 50 watts RMS power that you get from an external amp are two different things....

I realize this, but even 22 watts RMS is plenty for me. This is where the subwoofer takes care of the bass while the speakers enjoy crossovers. Trust me, having 6 tweeters and 4 midbass off the deck is plenty loud. I have the "loudness" off, and the EQ is set to "custom" and the front speaker crossover is set to 125 and the rear are set to 80 and the sub channel is set to 80. There is no reason to have bass coming out of the speakers from the deck if you are using a subwoofer. If you don't have a subwoofer, then you should buy some nice components and an external amp. But, YES, the external amp will be much more efficient in the long run, but I having an external amp only helps at higher volumes, my deck will produce superior sound as well. Thats what you get with the higher end Alpines and Pioneers.

I personally buy all my car stereo equipment from Circuit City. I used to work there for 3 years, and a few of my friends are in management now. One of them is a store manager. I even buy the 2 year ESP plan (warranty). Now, you are probably wondering why. Well, I haven't paid in full for anything in a long time. I just return and swap. They give me back what I paid, I pay the difference. Sometimes they pay me. I returned my Viper 550 ESP when I got my protege. The price had dropped. So I got paid to have the new one installed.

Same thing on my Camcorder. I started off with a Sony TRV416, then I returned that 3 years later and got a Sony DCR-IP5, I returned that back in January and got my Sony DRP-IP55. I'll probably swap again either this Fall or Winter.

Infinity Kappa is better than referance, but Infinity Kappa Perfect is the way to go. :D

Ok, so does it mean if I buy from CC, within the 2 year plan, I can swap the product with anything in the store ? That sounds sweet ~

Decks and subwoofers are the two things I will not buy online. I've risked it with everything else and come out on top.
