J&S Ultra Safeguard to be hooked up ASAP!

It's a rising rate fuel pressure regulator that is adjustable, yes.

Yeah, what he said.

I said the same thing only differently...

He is omitting some facts! It's an adj. FMU!!

IF the fuel pressure goes up 1lb to 1lb of boost, it's a conventional boost reference reg.. but if you r seeing 70-85 psi @ the fuel rail.. it's a FMU....they just have a adjustable version

Both the base pressure and the rate of gain can be adjusted. This is equivalent to changing the discs in an FMU (what does that stand for, anyhow?) only it's done by adjusting screws on the unit and is infinitely variable across the range. Similar concept (fuel pressure rises according to boost), different execution.

Guys, if you buy a prototype kit, don't expect it to be the same as a finished product. It's why you saved so much money.

Keith

Unless another peice is needed to maintain a reliable an long lasting kit, ie the voltage clamp, then no I wouldn't expect otherwise I would and that was to my knowledge part of the agreement.

Know if you guys found a way to sneak another few horses in or added peice that cut donw on maitnence, ie different clamps and such, then I deffinitly don't expect to see those things for free which is why i alredy bought them.

Looking at the photos, that's the same sensor we use. We've got an adaptor that allows it to be attached in place of an engine mount. Works quite nicely on hundreds of Miatas, should probably work on the Protege.

(edit) nope, not the same sensor. But the adaptor is compatible.

Keith

Picture please.

Hold on to your pants, this is exciting.

How accurate are these compared to the ones that are tapped into the block?

Thanks John! I think I found a place to mount the knock sensor at the bottom of the block in the front where the CAT bracket used to be at. Would the be a good place to mount the knock sensor?

Might be ok. Got a pic?

BTW, I tried sending you a PM, but your box is full

I will try to find one of the bottom of my engine block. I'm at work right now at 02:08 AM, but I will connect to my box at home, and send them to work.;) I am gonna have to do some serious cleaning up in my PM Inbox. By the way, it always shows me as offline, but I may not be.

Well John, I didn't have a picture of what I found, but it is toward the bottom of the block in the front.

I don't see what you are getting at. As far as I can tell, he said the same thing you are claiming he didn't.

Keith is just phrasing it differently...

I think he overlooked how many adjustments there are. He's describing an FMU with a fixed rate of gain. Ours has an adjustable rate of gain.
