It's a rising rate fuel pressure regulator that is adjustable, yes.

Yeah, what he said.
I said the same thing only differently...
Keith@FM said:Both the base pressure and the rate of gain can be adjusted. This is equivalent to changing the discs in an FMU (what does that stand for, anyhow?) only it's done by adjusting screws on the unit and is infinitely variable across the range.

Keith@FM said:Looking at the photos, that's the same sensor we use. We've got an adaptor that allows it to be attached in place of an engine mount. Works quite nicely on hundreds of Miatas, should probably work on the Protege.
(edit) nope, not the same sensor. But the adaptor is compatible.

He is omitting some facts! It's an adj. FMU!!
IF the fuel pressure goes up 1lb to 1lb of boost, it's a conventional boost reference reg.. but if you r seeing 70-85 psi @ the fuel rail.. it's a FMU....they just have a adjustable version
Keith@FM said:I think he overlooked how many adjustments there are. He's describing an FMU with a fixed rate of gain. Ours has an adjustable rate of gain.
