So i finally installed my J&S the other day and yesterday was the 1st time we turned on the engine with it in the car. We didn't move the car or anything, just let it idle in front of the garage for a few minutes.
So while i was sitting in the car i hooked up my laptop to my MPI to see what it had to say and then i turned the J&S around to look at the knock sensor monitor led and was surprised to see it on solid =\
there was no audible knock in the engine. we were 3 guys sticking our ears next to the engine and couldnt hear anything.
So i started to think that my knock sensor was installed at the wrong place ... 2 weeks ago, i was looking at LinuxRacr's picture in an old thread (see here) but we couldnt put it there for some reason. i think the AC is in the way. Focus' block was in the next room and i remembered that he had already installed his knock sensor a long time ago so we went to look at it and his is installed in the back of the engine, under the intake manifold. so the guy screwed in my knock sensor in the same location and we connected everything.
So is something wrong with my J&S or the knock sensor is in the wrong location and picks up sounds that it's not supposed to?
