I've been waiting 3 months now to buy

Found a lower price
in KC somone got a sport for 20,167 plus 441 TTL. 20608 plus tax
Thats a freakin deal.
He was also quoted 22,600 for a GT

So yes prices seem to be dropping(omg)

Sales people are like collection people. There job is to suck all they can out of you. It's a good thing your not still a sales person. There are thousands of stories about bad sales people and only a handfull about good ones. So I give no simpathy to them.

Hughes , I couldn't of said it any better. Our jobs(consumers) is to try and keep as much green in our pocket as possible.

Yeah, 20k and 22k are good targets for the sport and GT base models. Someone from the other boards got a GT with moonroof, autodim, and some other minor options for 22.6k! There's absolutely nothing wrong with trying to get the best deal you can get. The dealership can either do it, or they can't do it. Stop giving the guy crap.

Dealers also lose money for every extra month the car is stuck on the lot. Just like the consumers pay interest rates, so do the dealers. If the cars are not moving at all, they are willing to lower the price substantially in order to pay off the loan for the car.

Plus, if these dealers/salespeople are willing to sell the car for such low prices, it's their decision to do so. They don't HAVE to sell the car if they don't want to.

Salespeople also get more than just commission. They get paid for how many cars they sell during the month. If they reach their target during the month they are compensated for that.

Last point: Would you really want to pay close to msrp for a car that has been sitting on a lot for over a year? Why wouldn't you buy a brand new 2007? After a year on the lot the car has already depreciated in value substantially so the consumer would not be very smart buying this car close to msrp. I remember when this car was 'market adjusted' to $38,000!! lol

Excuse me? Not always true.

shes 100% right. Not EVERY dealer has a set quota to reach that pays more when you hit say 10 cars.... depends ENTIRELY on the dealership and their pay scale.

in either even passat 21800 is an awesome deal on the car regardless, THATS the point we were trying to get across to you. You sounded like an ass for basically saying, "if they dont give me another grand Im getting a german car." I kow where you were coming from, but the internet doesnt play to peoples sarcasm and tones in voices.

yes, salesmen are out to make money for themselves, but not all try to rip someone off. I personally dont think about what Im making on any given car (and we arent even allowed to find out what we are/are not making on the vehicle until the sale is complete). If you take that approach, then everyone is happier.

Hope you find what it is youre looking to get!

Thank you. ;)

I wasn't trying to pick a fight. I was just making it clear that he already had a good price going for himself and there is only so much the salesperson and dealership can do at the moment.

K Lea , this guy said he got a GT for 22600. If I paid 21800 for a sport the $800 diffrence would of made a huge diffrence. So yes the car depreciated a year and I'm sure any general manager would be dumb not to try to move an 06 speed 6. Like somone else said, It cost $$$ for the car to sit there for a year. I'm willing to take one at rock bottom price. This car will be even worth less than 22k after I drive it off the lot.

SELLING CARS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. (poke)

That's what usually what rebates are for. I will say I never moved ONE Speed6 off the lot and no one took interest in them, that's why they have such a high rebate but you still don't get where I am coming from.

SO with that said I'm kinda over this, I know what I'm talking about and I'm done going back and forth. For the last time, goodluck.

Really? Now that is an interesting price...

Thats what I'm talking about.

Did you haggle the salesman for that price?

No, it was an advertised price in the paper. $8500 off all speed6s.

Here's a current advertisement:
http://www.akinsofathens.com/Specials-New.aspx

2006 MAZDASPEED6 Grand Touring /w moonroof
MSRP: $31,265
-20% = $25,012
-$3500 = $21,512 (omg)
I would buy this immediately if I didn't buy one last month. $1300 more than I paid for leather/heated/power seats, smartkey, heated mirrors, and moonroof.

If you want it, I'd call them now, and book a flight for tomorrow, this is the last MS6 they have at all and the sale ends tomorrow.
