I 've been reading this forum for 3 months now. I was quoted 21800 for a speed6 sport and didn't jump on it. I went to wayne mazda when the incentives were 2500 in Oct. They said another 1000 from there dealer. I was supposed to lease it but the #'s didn't look right at the end. I test drove the sport in Sept and yes, the clutch caught high but damn it moved. I will be posting updates on my pricing. When the dealer gets down to $20,900 I'll be ready if not, I'm back to a german car.

You won't buy it because they won't drop another 900 bucks?

Enjoy the new german car I guess...

This really ticks me off.

Coming from a previous salesperson;

When we got customers like yourself, we wanted to take you out back and beat you. You are already getting a killer deal now you are just rapping the salesperson because you think they are doing that to you. NOT TRUE.

That's their job. You have to realize they get paid COMMISSION ONLY in most cases. They have families to feed, get off your high horse and take the deal as it is, it's a good deal.

Why? Because he is doing his JOB. You have a job, right? You get paid either salary or hourly, right? They don't. Hi2u we have to sell cars to get paid. Usually when there are rebates involved they are already not making money (the dealership) and when you sit there and argue with getting a lower price they are making NOTHING at all.

I've had a few customers like you and I ended up getting squat for commission and the dealership LOST money because of it. OMGNOWAY. Yes, dealerships lose money when people like you step in. Stop being selfish and take the deal as it is or not at all. Good luck with your German car.

Also, I am curious on this German car you speak of, what car?

I'm just trying to get a steal for myself. If the dealership can do it, great if not, I use my pin # and get a lease through mercedes. I'm just trying to do whats best for me. I could give a rats ass on how much money the salesman makes. I just care about what my monthly car payments are.

I'm glad life can go on for you.

Was there a reason you posted this trash? Feel like you had something to prove? The German car is better than the 6? Salespeople are thieves?

As a consumer, there is nothing wrong for trying to get the best price. The dealership can sell/not sell the car if they don't think they can make a profit. As a salesman on the otherhand, of course you are trying to make the most, hence most commission.

However, I think it's wrong to tell a consumer to suck it up and pay the higher price just so the salesman can make bread for the family. You wouldn't tell Microsoft to raise the price of window just so they can employ more people and improve economy now would you? (they already do that themselves)

That's just my .02

No, there isn't wrong with trying to get the best price. But when you are at a price like he is and wanting 900 more off, that's lowballing to the max. The dealership is already taking a loss with the 21800 or whatever it was.

Now, I did NOT tell him to suck it up and pay. I can see how it can be seen that way but I put "Stop being selfish and take the deal as it is or not at all." I didn't tell him he HAD To take the deal. There was an out "or not at all." He made his choice before he posted this thread, that was clear. He bashed the car in a different way than just saying "GERMAN > MAZDA." Atleast that's how I saw it.

Another thing, "Stop being selfish and take the deal as it is or not at all." Dealerships can only go so far and lose so much money. By him wanting 900 more off I'm sure the dealership already raised a red flag and told the salesperson to move on and work on another customer. So he either takes it, or goes with the other vehicle.

and what most people dont understand is that its not about the deal....., these dealerships can only go so low, which is why there is a msrp.

He should think himself lucky to have been offered that kind of a deal. I paid 29995 for mine...ok...so I suck at haggling...lol.

Yea, thats an awesome price for a Sport Model. I've talked two dealers down to $26,668 out the door for an 06 MS6 GT Black Leather w/Moonroof*Bose Option.....not sure how much lower i can go, but since theres two dealers going at it.....one has to give a tad bit more.

K lea. I really didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. I'm not bashing mazdas nor am I saying German cars are better. I'm just saying for the price, its a alot of car. For me to get another 900 off just means these cars aren't selling. I almost leased one for 258 a month. A month later the window sticker said lease me 189 per month. Yeah I'll wait until Dec/ Jan to pull the trigger. Its not fair for you to bring your issues to a Mazda forum. Save the time to argue with your shrink.
