2010 Flyin' Carpet
...I now longer own the speed. I traded her in on a 2008 4x4 frontier crew cab with 18k on the odometer. I needed a ton of suspension work on the Mazda and the warranty only had 2500 miles left, so it just made sense. Plus, my payments went down about $100 a month and insurance dropped $80 a year. The truck came with a 7 year/100k mile warranty and I must admit, I am enjoying it. I do miss the speed, but this just made sense.

Sincerely hope you stay around as a moderator, we do need your level headedness

Thanks everyone. I do like it quite a bit.

The gas isn't too bad. I got 17mpgs on my first full tank. On my speed, i was getting about 22-23. so that is 5-6mpgs less but I can run regular fuel, so that helps offset the fuel cost a bit.

I do plan on sticking around as a mod and member for a while. If it comes to a point where I am not visiting as often, then I will relinquish my duties. Besides, I may not be mazdaless for long. I am looking at the CX-9s for the wife.

lol i wanted to get a cx9 also but she complained it was to big and we ended up getting a cx7 (shrug)

More info.

Strut mounts on both sides, sway bar end links, driver side cv, passenger side ball joint. (Chicago pot holes are brutal)

Still a very nice car, but I don't want any more forced induction, at least not from Mazda.

Suspension on my speed 6 feels about as sloppy as a caddy eldorado. im going to keep this car and pay it off though. im pretty sick of negative equity everytime i trade a car in.

I can't blame you...Luckily I was 2k in the positive on it which made the decision even easier.

That's where I'm at now, but I'm sick of having car payments. I plan on driving the Speed until just won't go any further. Luckily I have the ability and tools to do any mechanical work it's going to eventually need.

Actually the shocks on my wifes 2007 Mazda 5 are toast, so I that's next on the list. Hopefully somone will talk me out of buying a new set of Koni sports for the speed and then putting the used MS3 "heavy duty" shocks on the 5.
