It's ALIVE! - I'm boosted!

Stalling can be improved by opening up the TB butterfly a little. I think 1st posted this a number of times. It helps.

I no longer stall in town, but I will stall if I run boost and throw in the clutch. This I would attribute to the MAF. If you can rev the car while sitting there, and it stalls (like mine did before) you have a leak.

I would like to know more about recirculating as well. Not necessary but can't hurt.

Likewise, Terry or Norman. With the re-designs, what happens to those of us that have the kit already? Is it something we need or just something minor? Curious.

not neccesarily beavis,
50 % chance of a leak . not saying its not a sign but there are many factors in the rough idle and stall issue.you would be surprised how well the MAF responds when you move it closer to the frame rail and away from the compressor inlet. but it doesnt count out a leak in the intercooler piping. im curios to know how many guys out there have the NON intercooled kits and if they have had the same throttle issues when decelerating.

On my car I have searched for a leak for months.
I have gone to the point of marking every pipe with chualk then disassembling everything to make sure the lines where high enough on each pipe to allow a good grip. Then I re-attached them and again use a wratchet to tighten the clamps. Then I sprayed every joint and pipe down with Carb choke cleaner and listened for a idle surge. I never got one. I een soaked the intercooler incase of a bad weld or something.
Vacuum wise, my VAC is always below 20 PSI so from what I have been told there is no chance of a boost leak but again I have checked al the lines many time for one and none where found.

The only thing I ever found was that I had an exhuast leak on the down pipe before the 02 sensor. When I fixed that the car would no longer stall at red lights, just when putting the clutch to the floor while at speed.

That is when I opened up the TB butterfly a bit and have NEVER stalled since. The idle does roll a bit as the car has no clue what to do with itslef but that was the only draw back. Also, since I have a MONSTER alternator I found opeing the TB was the only way to keep the idle higher as the 500-600 stock is a joke and would kill itself when the fans came on.

Oh, from Chojin's post about mazdaformance's turbo protege:
spoolinmp3 - The Tial BOV is very nice. We did have to increase its spring pressure though, to keep the car running properly. The valve would open ever so slightly, causing eradic idling, dying while coming to a stop with the clutch in, etc. Once we shimmed the spring and adjusted the idle screw, all the problems went away.

Sounds like the same problem. Have you checked the BOV to see if the valve is leaking a bit, especially when you depress the clutch and the revs drop?
