I know of no other owners at this time, but I do like what I have seen, and after finally driving one, I am impressed. I live in the Memphis area with 2 Mazdaspeed dealers here. Each has a black one, but I drove an orange one. Interesting color, and nice, but not for me.
After previously owning a black car, I swore I would never own another. But; I may have to make an exception. I thought I read that Mazda was going to release some additional color options for the Protege Mazdaspeed, but not sure.
I am looking to trade a 1999 Sentra SE Limited, and both dealers are claiming they can make me 'happy'! I'm a little upside down,,,but if they want to sell me a car, I think I'm ready.
I have considered the Nissan Spec V Type R Sentra, and I even checked out the Mini Cooper S (very cool!), but I beleive Mazda has a real Winner with this car. All reports look really good.
I always thought I would need to get over 200 HP with my next car, but as an entire package, I think the Mazdaspeed is tough to beat. I welcome any comments, please. By this Saturday, I either will or won't have a new black Mazdaspeed.
A couple of questions:
Apparently; there is no option for Cruise Control. Is this correct?
Also; does anyone know if Mazda is going to be offering this car with a moonroof?
By the way; my wife drives a 2002 Protege ES (5 speed). Sweet car!
