Or you can just refuse to pay the customs fee/duty. I don't know about UPS but with Fedex if the receiver didn't pay, Fedex will collect it from the sender. Hey, just an option, doesn't mean you should do this.
With USPS, if the sender is real friendly with you and declare the item as gift then there will be no customs fee/duty at all. However, The value of a "gift" has to be under $60. What's the problem with that? Well, I am not too sure, since sender can declare whatever value they want. I am thinking the problem would be with insurance. If the package ever get lost you might only be able to claim it for under $60. Then again, I've ship something oversea before using USPS declare the item as a gift and then insure it for $100+, yet the worker that the post office didn't seem to mind. THe package never got lost, so I never get to know that whole thing with the insurance.
