I have my my single din head unit removed from my car and have a scosche double din install kit and a off brand head unit and the kit fits the unit fine but I can't get the faceplate to clear the dash it appears I'll have to trim it but I'd rather not is there a different kit I can use that wouldn't require cutting. I can use the cage but with it installed it looks crappy. Any info would be appreciated

Thanks

I went and bought a metra kit from my local car stereo shop went right in dunno why the scosche one is just little too wide its too bad cause their kit looks to have a better finish that the metra lol

i brought double din from dx.com (theres dozon models to choose from) they go right in as the installation manual says. most of the wire are same color all i have to do is just match the wire color and theres only couple wires doesnt match in color , but manual should tell you what it does

but i dont suggest u buy from dx.com. go amazon or ebay. look for slightly higher priced model with okay brands.

if u dont wanna have trouble install gps. go for kenwood DNX570 or whatever ($550+ come with pre installed garmin gps)

if you wanna get cheap double din and DIY gps, look for CE 6.0 ; 6.2-6.5" screen one install a igo GPS they are fairly good gps, but lil bit slow with cheap double din.

garmin app for CE6.0 sometimes dont work depends ur double din model.

I ended up getting a pioneer avh x4600bt because it supports android playback thru mtp wiring was easy I've installed many car stereos in the past. I don't really use gps very much if I ever did need it I just use my phone lol.
