Hey guys i know its a SMIC thread but i wanted to know if the turbohose SMIC worth the $$$$ and that piping with intercooler core????

Get the CustomMSP one from protegegarage. It's cheaper unless you can buy a used one. I've got it and it works cool. You notice the difference. I believe the CustomMSP core is a little bigger too, but barely.

get turbohoses....one of the best mod ive done ever and they are the only smic with a dyno proving their gains. Absolutely worth every penny if you plan to keep under 10psi.

either one will work great

.......but one will do far more then the other.
this is proven,I tested the turbohoses SMIC before it came out,and it definatly impressed me.
it out performed my FMIC on low end by a lot.

im planning max 10 psi. So i dont blow my engine, and also ill have mods to help support like a ghl turboback

if you go high boost numbers, you will probably need to go with a FMIC. but if you keep it under about 10-12, you should be able to use the hard lines and a SMIC. the main reason that i would stress the FMIC with boost numbers that low would be to do a radiator swap just to protect the motor when you are pushing high horse and torque numbers. but then again, i am all for protection. you wouldn't know it by seeing my family.

i mean, not trying to sound like an ASS...but literally, if you use the search function, about 100 posts would show up regarding this question...

i will answer it over and over again no problem....but people would have a more focused answer if they DID search...

my .02 cents

i looked for other threads and yes i read them but i wanted a more recent answer for this question because i wanna make sure i make a good purchase for what i plan to do with my car.

An upgraded smic is worth it and you can run more than 10 psi boost if you want too. I have an CustomMSP smic and also the turbohoses hardpipes. You do not have to get an fmic, but you do need to get rid of the euro spec diesel truck intercooler if you have any plans to get more out of your car.

A 320 hp Supra came stock with an smic, granted a large one but still an smic. You'll have a hard time approaching that number with a few bolt ons and basic mods in your MSP. Point being that smic's can support power and more than 10 psi.

One of the fastest MSP's in the bragging rights thread ran an upgraded smic and more than 10 psi with great frequency. It was a CustomMSP unit. But either one will put a grin on your face after you install it and take your first spirited drive.
