Is this a new TSB for the speed?

sufer smell is from the tallpipe and smells like busted ass or rotten egg........coolant smell is from the engine compartment and smells sorta sweet.......the exhaust smell is usually due to bad or over heated cat i think

Yeah.. that's what I was thought. But it said Coolant/Exhaust for the description

I bet this TSB is out b/c of the uber rich MSP PCM... .lol we'll have to replace the cats every 2 years!!!

Should I have reserached theman's tsb? I just thought someone might have heard/done this TSB already

Interesting. I had mine in a while ago for these two problems. Mazda dealer pressure tested the coolant system and said no leaks found. At least its documented now. Still smell coolant and see residue around radiator cap.

Exhaust smell went away with the flash. Lets keep an eye out for something more definite from our boys at Mazda.

so there is a tsb for the smelly exhaust?

LOL-
Thats the only TSB that my local dealer could find regarding my car- nothing abou tthe ECU or the bushings - but they gave me this BS about a smelly car-

(argh)

See this is the 1st I've heard of it.

Come to think of it, my car really stinks when you 1st start it up since the cats aren't too warm at start up. Of course most cars that use 93 octane stink when they 1st start up IMHO (my mom's IS300 stinks, and my old Probe GT stunk)

hahahaha.....rotten ass......
i haven't noticed if my car smells.....
lemme go take a sniff...

i get the rotten egg smell here and there. If it persists, I'll have the dealer check it out.

Well I called up my dealership today and here's what happened. He told me that there really isn't anything to fix with this problem it just depends on what type of gas you use. Because certain refineries use different amounts of sulphur in gasoline, and because our cars run so pig rich depending on how much is in the gas we smell it. This is of course only an explanation for those who only get it every once in a while and not constantly unless if you are using the same gas station over and over. He recommended to me to go to ammco (now bp), texaco, and somethingelseco lol. I'll probably start going to bp just cause a lot of people like it a lot it's supposed to be really good gasoline. My friend told me that he's been putting that in his car and his hard idle went away and he doesn't smell gasoline as much so he's been going there since so I'll try it out.

Well since our vehicles run so rich, can we expect a TSB for catalytic converters in a year or two??
Now that's rich!

But about the people who get it once in a while. I have gotten the same gas from the same station since I got the car with no exceptions. There must be some other factor that contributes to the sulfer smell. It's not a huge deal to me because the once in a while that I get it is like one a month.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
