Is this a good decision? 03LX2.0 vs 07MS3GT

Are the prices really that different between the US and up here? Supply is also super limited - there are only 3 used MS3's for sale in the whole province, and maybe 8-10 in the whole country (according to auto trader). The other 2 for sale in Ontario are also 07's, and cost about 3K more, but have less mileage.

Yes, prices are that different in Canada (and in Mxico, for that matter) than in the US. I remember seeing forum members from Canada getting their MS3 for around $29,000 USD, so 28,000 for a new one sounds right.

Sounds like you've done a bit of shopping, but is there any other dealer you could ask about this? Just so check if the dealer/trader you're checking with right now isn't spewing BS.

But I do think you'd be doing good to sell the other car before it becomes troublesome. Even if you put a lot of money into fixing that car (say, 4000) you won't be able to mark up your car for the same amount, so that's money you'll be burning through very quickly.

You may consider that the dollar may go back to par this summer and you can get a used MS3 from the US for cheaper.

$20k for an 07 with 40000kms doesn't sound too bad to me.
That's average kms for an 07 and you're saving about 10-12 grand off a brand new MS3.

If you want to buy brand new, there is currently a $2500 rebate for MS3 and 09 MSRP had a $2000 reduction.

I would tell her, "What's all that aboot, eh?"

No, it has nothing to do with your situation, but I just love hearing your Canuckistanis talk.

Hmmm maybe I overlooked a new MS3 too quickly. $29,000 - $2,500 - trade in = ~23,000. That extra few bucks might be worth it for it have no km and being 2 years newer. (Although the mods on that used 07 are Exactly what I would do).

I did a quick search and found the US rebate - do you have a link for the details here in Canada?

I purchased my 09 CWP speed3 in April for ~27 with 3,000 down. This is with taxes and whatnot all included. I should mention I am Canadian as well.
