Is this a good deal/car?

Hi guys.

I have a quote on a new 2008 Mazda 3 value edition for $17,350 (OTD) with 3.9% for 60 months. It's a manual transmission, 2.0 engine. Is this a decent car and price? I'm not looking to race or anything, but would like a car that could move out of the way if need be. Any opinions or feedback will be appreciated.

sound a little expensive for a sedan manual! my brother got his auto with alloywheels 2.0 for like 16,500 if not less

Thanks.

This is the out the door price though. Did you brother get his for $16,500 otd? Also, is he happy with the car? Thanks again

Remember that the location will change the pricing on the car too. I live in SoCal and got my 2008 Mazda 3 i touring for 16.5k OTD.

Thanks.

I'm in S.Florida. This one is the Touring Value Edition. It has 17" alloys, lether wrapped steering wheel, power, cd, etc. The sticker is in the mid 17's. I thought that the OTD price at $17,350 was a decent deal. Maybe I could get it for less. Can anyone chime in on the 2.0 engine? Thanks.

You should try not to get the "out the door" price. Get the price for the car and all their dumb and un-necessary little fees separate. All those "post-delivery vehicle assessment" or "environmental compliance and readiness" fees are not necessary, frowned upon by most manufactures and just made to confuse you and suck more money out of your wallet. Those fees should all be honestly titled as "the wallet vacuum" or "let me bend you over this bench and afterwards you'll make me a sandwich."

Also don't let the dealer handle the financing. Hell I suggest do not even allow them to handle the title and tags, get them from another place that will not add some surcharge.

I'm in New England and paid 17K for the value touring with the 6cd changer with MP3, along with the moonroof, added a spoiler and AutoBond rock gaurd and it ended up costing me $17,800. 60 months 4.9%.

Thanks. It sounds like you are getting a better deal than me. (except for the APR) The 17,350 (OTD) was a plain Value edition. It didn't have a sunroof or spoiler, but it did have a cd, leather wrapped steering wheel, 17" alloys. It was also a manual transmission.

Does yours have a 2.0? Any comments on the car itself? Thanks again.

I've got 500 miles on it and there is a ouple of things that I found "quirks" if you will.......but nothing that makes me regret my decision.

I have the 2.0 with the 5 speed as well. Handles great and is quick enough for me.

I've got to get some pics up!

I got my '08 hatchback Sport package, automatic, 2.3 engine, a tick over $17,000 before t/t/t. After that I think it was like $18,500, went in with a pre-approved 5% APR from my bank and they gave me 3.9% for 60 months. They had it stickered at $19,500 on the lot which made me laugh my balls off.

That is in Jax, FL.
